Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy/frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of gum, alcohol, butter, and concrete. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Sadly, a terrible bottle/batch. Very dead aroma (best before March 2014, so it’s certainly fresh)...industrial notes, gummy, diacetyl...unpleasant, to be perfectly frank. Bland in the mouth with a somewhat dirty aftertaste. Complete drain pour, along with the Keller Pils. Surprisingly inconsistent brewer...I’m 2 for 4 so far, will continue to explore but certainly less enthusiastically now, doggone it.

0.5l bottle. Golden body, white head. Aroma of bread and floral hops. Taste of bread, toast, honey, some caramel and floral hops. The aftertaste is bit bitter with a touch of honey. The body is medium, alcohol is warming. Nice beer.

Tiefgoldener Bock mit stabiler Schaumkrone. Blumiges Malzaroma mit Honignote. Vollmundiger Antrunk. Lieblicher, halbtrockener Malzgeschmack, geradezu crisp im Mittelteil, wird angenehm würzig und bittert angenehm harzig-herb nach. Gute Süffigkeit, leckerer Bock!

Bottle, many thanks to Quack-Duck. Golden color with medium long lasting white head. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, cookies. Taste, sweet malt, caramel, sweet cookies, honey alcohol, bitter hops. Nice bitter finish. Good.

super fresh bottle. Weiherer are masters of soft pilsner malt and use of German hops, so what of a heavier, sweeter, low-hopped beer. what we have here is a sticky icky honeycomb pale malt treasure of a dessert beer, offering warming alcohol and hearty comfort in the rich and sweet malt body, minerallic and firm and protein-rich with velvety carbonation. toss in some toast / just-burnt honey / kilned grains and lingering buttery soft finish of prickly alcohol and mild malt acid, why yes, we have a winner.

Bottle, beersofeurope. Initial sweet faint maltiness, pours beautifully clear pale gold, despite a fair amount of sediment lurking in the pour. Really impressed with the flavour, hoppy bitterness, with bready notes in the finish. Midway there’s some tangy sharpness, with grassy notes and sweet nuttiness. One of my favourite German beers of recent times.

Pours clear golden color with a medium-sized frothy head. Aroma of mild corn, toffee notes, hops, ripe fruits and wheat. Flavor of ripe fruits, some hops, wheat, some caramel and toffee. Slick and sweet sticky palate. Quite nice.

Aroma is slightly sweet with honey and hints of sugar. Flavour has honey, grassy hops and hints of grainy malt. Good heller bocks are rather rare, but this is one of them. I like the grassy notes here.

Draught at Gallow’s Bird, Espoo. Clear pale golden in color with thick, creamy white head. Sweet, herblike on the nose at first with some butterscotch also. Slightly peppery notes also. Pleasant aroma. Flavor slightly hay-like with light notes of spices as pepper and alcohol in a nice way. Light bitterness in finish.
