Bottle @ Mega Bavarian Beer Tasting in Schlitz. Hazy yellow appearance with a white head. Pale grainy, husky, light lemon aroma. Grainy, somewhat husky, bready yeasty, light vanilla, lemon flavor. Pretty refreshing.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), lightly to moderately yeasty (basement), with light notes of soap, butter, DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Wow, another terrible sample from this brewery that I once thought was great, what the hell? That’s three bottles in a row from them that have been tainted with flaws. Very unpleasant nose with very little to entice. Thin and sourish in the mouth with a husky finish. Looks decent but that’s the only redeeming quality.

Bottls shared at CBC Clerkenwell, London during the Pizza Port tap takeover - just something I brought to mix it up. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a creamy, white head. Dry and biscuity pale malt nose, some hay. Light to medium sweet flavor with further biscuity pale malts, white bread, mild bitter straw. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet, fairly crisp on the finish with bready and lightly doughy biscuits and general pale malts, soft bitter straw. Great balance overall. Very drinkable.

Craft Clerkenwell Pizza Port Tap Takeover event. Can’t remember who brought this - but thank you! Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Dry papery sweet malt. Little dried fruits. Passable.

Bottle, best by May 8, 2013, consumed in Nov. 2012: Beaming chartreuse golden. Even, foamy, pasty white froth. Highly perfumey nose teems with lemony hops and minerals, as well as sugar-glazed mint leaves, peppered melon, vibrant baguette pils malt, and grass. Fine and luxurious carbonation caresses the tongue. Opens with a beautifully proportionate medley of spicy hops and clean and weightless fresh-hay-tinged pils malt. Lip-smacking tandem of minerals and flowers immediately ensues. Slick push of ripe melon at the core, though there is no estery fruitiness to speak of. Clean as a whistle. Pils malt exudes with a feathery gracefulness, but wields just enough crackery crispness and toast to provide structure and depth to the strikingly lean frame. Hop bitterness takes on an herbal coarseness to enhance the pronounced lemony tang. Closes captivatingly soft and elegant, with potent well-rounded hop acids entwined with juicy florals and a light dose of minerals. Well this is quite the humdinger. The overall immaculateness simply cannot be overstated. Very singular in character, as it’s got more minerals than most kellerbiers and it’s hopped like a pils. Nose might be just a tad quiet, but this is crazy clean all around. Another charmer from clearly a world-class brewer.

bottle dated BB May 2013 had in November, 2012. lightly hazed gold body with a small, fine-bubbled white head. pungent, spicy and green spalt-like hops with additional touches of citrus oil and lemongrass; very fragrant and intoxicating hop aroma with mineral accents and a mild pungency. semi-sweet with rich layers of honey / pastry / biscuit pale malt. extremely soft body with creamy carbonation frothing across the middle and releasing the prickly, zesty and vibrant hop acids. wonderfully fresh, this and many other Weiherer products would easily be my daily drinkers if I lived in Franconia. I put Kundmüller in my personal top 5 Germany breweries, they are that good.

Bottle. Poured into a ceramic mug with an off white head. Clean pale malts, light floral notes, light grains, and a clean yeasty finish. Good stuff.
