3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from a corner shop.
Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head.
Nose - mostly coffee but with some chocolate.
Taste - more of the same. Enough chocolate to make it pleasant.
Palate - surprising body for the ABV. Creamy with a dry finish.
Overall - not a coffee in beer fan and often doubt the virtues if weak stout but a pat on the back to the brewer for making this interesting yet balanced.
