When you get to that time of day when that cup of hot coffee is no longer the answer, and you need something with a little extra kick, plait your bear, stick on your eye patch and grab a Black Perle. This milk stout is chock full of roasty malts, milk sugar, hopped with hand full’s of perle plundered from the unsuspecting and aged on a chest full of Zamorana coffee beans.

Bottle. A clear looking dark brown beer with a small, dense, beige head. The aroma has lots of lovely coffee, with mocha and dark chocolate. Roasted malts. It’s quite thin on the palate, expected for a beer at this ABV, with a very soft carbonation level. Mocha, roasted malts, dark chocolate and some dried fruits. Some lacto notes. Lasting mocha and dark chocolate finish with a little bitterness. Pretty wonderful low ABV coffee stout I would like to have as a regular in my local grocery store. 140808

Bottle from the Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Pours black with a tan head. There’s some really good chocolate flavour to this along with the dry coffee finish. The moughtfeel is inevitably pretty thin, but this is a great beer for the strength.

Cask @ Euston Tap. Board says 3.8%. Pours black, with a milky chocolate stout character, additional coffee dregs and roasted bitter notes. Nice.

Cask (Bodega, Newcastle) - Very dark brown, almost black, with red tinges. Coffee, roasted malt and plain chocolate in the aroma. Coffee, burnt toast and cocoa all feature in the smooth taste.

500ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Almost black, reasonable head. Coffee malt aroma. Spwwet spicy coffee flavour. Coffee aftertaste. Not sure why this is a sweet stout but it is certainly a good coffee stout.

Barwa: czarna, nieprzejrzysta nawet pod światło. Piana jasno brązowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, średniej wielkości i ładnie oblepiająca szkło. Aromat: na pierwszym miejscu zdecydowanie kawa, następnie płatki owsiane i ciemne, palone słody. Konkretny i przyjemny.
