Black India Pale Ale. Sounds wrong, but tastes so right! An innovative new style challenges your preconceptions about how a dark beer should taste? Fade to Black is darker than a Metallica album cover and hoppier than a box of frogs on pogo sticks, this beer has a fascinating interplay between the fruity hops, dark toasted notes from the malt and the spicy rye.

Grains: Pale, Crystal, Crystal Rye, Chocolate, Carafa III

Kolor: czarny lub ciemny br?z z rubinowymi refleksami. Piana be?owa, drobno p?cherzykowa, ?rednio trwa?a, przyzwoicie zdobi szk?o. Aromat: owoce, lekka palono?? i ?ywica. W smaku ponownie delikatna ?ywica, nieco owocowo, sporo palono?ci i co? jakby mydliny. Goryczka niezbyt intensywna, ?ywiczno owocowa, wysycenie ?rednie.

(Thx!) Sampled draft (twice) @ Tilquin English Beer Festival 2016. Very hazy brown, tanned head. Nnose is massive blue cheese hop, Sorachi ace, low mocha, chewy malts & toffee, beautiful. Taste is massive Sorachi Ace blue ceese hops, some mocha, butterscotch, chewy malts,..; massively creamy. This fulfils my love for Sorachi Ace, this is beauty, I need this to be a standard thing. I love you.

Draft @ Tilquin English Fest ’16, courtesy of and shared with the fine Belgian RB crew.

Draft at Tilquin English Beerfestival. Very roasty, malts, bitter chocolates. Not getting much IPA out of this. A bit like a thinned out Sadako. Nice.

Pours black with low tan head. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate, light citrus and blood orange. Taste is citrusy up front followed by a rich coffee bitter finish. Light and smooth body with soft carbonation.

Bottle 33cl, a dark beer with huge copper head and good retention, nose is on dark malt and hop resin. Aroma is on dark malt, coffee, licorice, very roasted and dry with bitter orange, peach, mango and op resin, pine and grapefruit notes. Body is roasted with high bitterness, aftertaste on roasted malt and hop resin.

Quite complex and subtle. At firstI found it underwhelming but it grew on me. More malty then hoppy. Coffee, chocolate and liquorice in the malt. Pine and citrus, topical fruit in the hops. The bitterness develops over time so it becomes more like an IPA than a stout. Great one.
