Garrold (1337) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2014
Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, lumpy, orangey amber. Patchy, sticky, lasting, white head. Yer genuine fruit salad sweet aroma. Light, fresh, mintiness. Very light spiciness. Taste is brown sugar sweet to start. There’s a light, fudgy, maltiness running through. The bitterness comes by way of a light grapefruit hoppiness that balances everything beautifully. Palate is fresh and lively, with a slip of oiliness. Finish is zesty, fresh bitterness. A delight.

Pours almost clear amber orange with off-white decent head. Nice, fruity aroma, mostly pineapple, mango and peach, later with some sprucy and piney notes. Good taste, with pleasant bitterness and just enough background. Medium body and carbonation, long palate with some alcohol warmth. Good stuff.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2014 Many thanks to Weird Beard for sending me TWO replacement bottles to make up for the one below! This has medium carbonation with a fresh pine fruitiness and crisp bitterness. Some tropical elements emerging more than the orange before but it’s a good hop balance and great bitter finish. Thanks guys.

330ml bottle from Beermoth. Flat as a pancake :( Looks like Cheddar Valley cider in the glass, orange and still, with a sweet aroma and peach melba yoghurt taste. Hm.. next.

Smell of citrus and spruce. Hazy amber colour, small white head. Aroma of spruce, citrus, a faint of pepper in finish. Lively and plentiful carbon. Starts out very bitter and transitions into sweetness. Nice attitude.

(Keg at Black Door, 20140129) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had citricness, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, pine, white bread, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A very nicely done balanced American style IPA,

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Real Ale Festival 2014)
Super fruity fruit coctail aroma - pineapple mango, lychee, in syrup. Pale, hazy. Drinkability massive, but its palate is so damn keggy, and after the beatifully conditioned real ales, just feels wrong, with its crisp and thinning carbonation. Taste is also packed with tropical fruits. A bit of a one-trick pony, but it does it well. Shame about the fizz.
