Pacific Northwest meets Pacific Southeast as the best of American and New Zealand hops meld together with just enough malt backbone to allow them to sing. A riot of mango and passion-fruit on the nose but balanced enough to drink by the bucketful. Dive in and grab another bottle but don’t get the bends.

Grains: Pale, Vienna, Munich, Cara-Pils
Hops: Citra, Pacific Gem

Bottle. Neck is all tropical fruits. On pouring that’s overtaken by a white wheatiness. Looks like a lager. Taste is....worse than mediocre. The overly subtle bitterness and hops is washed out by an all pervading wateriness and an unpleasant little bastard of stale lager fizz. Tastes like dry hopped Perrier water. Emperor, clothes etc.

Keg at Jessop House, Cheltenham, Gloucs. Gold with white head. Straight into a lovely hoppy character with this beer, there is a hop oil presence, nicely sticky with grapefruit zest and kiwi fruit to the fore. Bitter and pleasantly sharp, the body is fairly simple, if a little light. Overall very decent.

Bottle. Grapefruit nose, somewhat stinky and funky, chopped-up weeds, zesty and tangy.Thin hazy medium amber color, filmy head. Tropical fruit initial, great mid-palate resins hop jumps, some more citrus, a bit of hop burn, and slightly thin in finish. Medium body. Quite a nose. Very tasty.

Wow. West coast IPA meets NZ (still getting to know them) hops. I love it. Will definitely search this one out again. Citrus, grapefruit and bitter passion fruit in the hops. Balance from the malt. Decent head. Goes down very easily,
