Saison is a French/Belgian farmhouse style of beer where the yeast is the star. True to weird beard traditions we like to pair the yeast notes with some hoppy ones to create this summer’s day in a glass. It is a dry beer but has enough fruity sweetness to make it very moreish. Should be served cold and well carbonated, you will never see this beer in cask. Batch 0010

Murky golden body. Lovely development, super yeast. Punchy citrus balanced by great malts. Nice drinkable beer too, with moderate alcohol. Very good start of a beery day, if you ask me! (50cl bottle from QV.ID)

Keg at Craven Arms. Dry yes. But also thick, sweet, wheat. Tangy and rich paste throat glide. Good UK sais.

Bottle shared at a friend’s house. Pours cloudy orange with rich fizzy off-white head. Enjoyable fruity aromas, apricot, notes of citrus, orange peel. Medium bodied with rich oily texture, average carbonation and dry-bitter finish. Significant presence of yeast, notes of hay, grass, maybe pine, earthy. Refreshing and totally drinkable. Was perfectly combined with baked potatoes dipped into lemon sauce, along with green salad. Yep, I loved it!

Nice one. Quite original and it fits the style unlike a lot of ales that label themselves saison for marketing purposes. Fresh grassy on the nose. Flavor is grassy hay floral a bit vinous and some bitter hops. The hops are maybe a bit too harsh/resinous. Medium bodied with prickly carbonation. It has a lot of flavor considering the lack of sweetness and the modest abv.

Ciekawy saison. W tę wytrawną stronę. Zapach - kwiaty i owoce. Smak - Kiszone ogórki przede wszystkim. Potem wiadomo - przyprawy, trochę kwiatów. Najbardziej kiszony saison, jakiego piłem.

Bottle from de Molen Beershop, batch 0196 dated May 15 BB May 16, large sample. Almost clear deep golden color, big rocky head. Aroma has pineapple, citrus, peppery yeast, flowery notes, touch of funk and bubblegum. Dry in taste, citrussy bitterness, slight fruity sour touch. Good stuff.

Gold, cloudy with a big fluffy white head. Medium body with a frothy feel. You get the yeast, the peppery spice, the apricot and orange from the hops; none of which are too pronounced. Slightly dry finish. Does the business.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - clear orange with a nice fluffy head. Nose - dried apricots and general yeasty notes. Taste - more dried oranges, apricots and yeast. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - decent but atypical.
