Test vom 5.8.2006 Noten: 7,8,8,9,8,9 - 8,45

Bottle. Bronze body, nice head. Earthy autumn aroma with a hint of smoke. Well balanced - taste is malty and sweet. The sweetness is balanced with woodiness in aftertaste. Very good, seems to be underrated here.

Clear amber color, small steady off-white head. Malty nose with green apples and rye. Medium-bodied. Also flavor has green apple fruityness with malty background. Sweetish. A bit odd ball.

Bottled (from BierZwerg.de). Amber colour with a big cramy/foamy off-white head. Aroma is bready and caramelly malts with also some quite crispy notes. Also some mild grassy and spicy notes. Flavour is sweet malts, some mild grassy and floral hops along with mild wooden and herbal notes.

500ml bottle (Stockman, Tallinn)
6 Big biscuitey malty aroma
4 Rich coppery orange, healthy tight head, lacing sticks well.
6 Full rich malty body some roast, delicate ginger occasionally too, lovely bitter noble hops.
3 Pleasant carbonation, fullish body, though we did drink it warm. Finish quite a dry biting noble hop.
13 If this is what lager is, then I like lager.

Bottle, 5.1%. Rough malt aroma, not grainy, though. Almost clear dark amber colour. Big stable off-white head. The flavour is malty and dusty at first, a little sweetish also. Later it turns slightly perfumy with more of the rough, but not grainy, maltiness.

judasbeer (431) - Budapest, HUNGARY - FEB 28, 2010
Appearance: Deep and clear golden color. Fluffy white head. Good lacing.
Aroma: Definite nutty notes with slightly toasted, caramel sweetness. A bit hop spiciness.
Flavor: Good bready and nutty-malty base with slight metallic hints. Some flowery hop character at the end.
Mouthfeel/Palate: Medium body. Soft to average carbonation. Smooth texture.
Overall Impression: Good malty base with restrained toasted character. Not bad.

Embrouille (2830) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 13, 2010
Bottled 50cl. 5.1 ABV. It pours a beautiful clear amber beer with a nicely lasting head. Very impressive frutiy aroma of papaya, crackers, cinnamon, faint smoke, leather, apricot and strawberry. Smooth and delicious taste. The lovely edlerberry and papaya notes are really well integrated in the biscuity malt profile. Very faintly smoky. Low bitterness. Subtle carbonation. Light to medium bodied, not really "vollmundig" as indicated but surely respecting the "Stammwürze-Garantie" as shown on the label. Good lacework. Smoky malty finish. Underrated in my opinion. A great buy.
