3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml, swing top bottle from Hunger Mountain CO-OP. Deep amber color with tiny white head. Light lace. Nose is raisins dipped in caramel malt. Flavor is figs, maybe dates and bread malt. Plum hints. A mild booziness that is not harsh. Medium in body with a syrupy texture. Nice brew and worth a buy if you want a classic example of the style.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle pours a deep amber color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and grass with some dark fruits. Taste is a caramel malty and raisin sweetness with a grassy hop bitterness. Body is medium with light carbonation. A decent doppelbock, but lacking in complexity with other doppelbocks.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A - Pours a clear garnet with tan head.
S - Toasted brown bread, toasted brown sugar, vanilla.
T - Follows the nose - Brown bread crust, woody grain, caramel, light but earthy bitterness, some berry fruit underneath. Bready and nutty on the finish.
M - Low carbonation, thin medium body.
All good except for the mouthfeel was a little off. I would drink this again but wouldn’t go out of my way to find it.

Gravity Keg at Churchkey event. Poured a dark amber color. Aroma was sweet malts, with some lightly roasted qualities. Flavor had a touch of fruits, plenty of malty sweet character. Alcohol is pretty well masked for 8.2%.
