Malt, leaf, finish is lightly sweet and slightly bitter.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from South Lyndale Liquor. A light brown color and low carbonation. The aroma has malt and lager yeast but there is also some light spice I can’t identify, along with the lightest nutmeg. Rich palate and lots of sweet malt. A very good dunkel, and unusual with the light spice. Another reminder that it is hard to get a quality dunkel outside of central Europe.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Deep nougat-hued bronze body, medium off-white head. Nose is coffee, nougat, deep smooth caramel tones, hints of malt extract and smoke far in the back. Pleasant. Taste is smokey deep malts, caramel, hints of nougat and burnt sugar. Prominent smokey tones, also in the aftertaste. This is really nice. Medium body, smooth carbonation with just enough drinkability to provide the goods. I liked this one a lot.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 50cl, a dark amber beer with good head but goes down too quickly. Nose is on brown bread and caramel. Aroma is on toasted malt, caramel, vegetables, brown bread, the beer is medium sweet to low with a slightly sour and smoked hints. Finish is very dry with a grassy hops note, an unusual dunkel, quite easy to drink, not heavy and well hopy, body is a bit less complex.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is heavy on dark malts, with some graininess as well. The flavor is caramel, toffee, nuttiness and a smooth finish. No off flavors or harshness and a good flavor, this was a great dunkel.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
0.5l bottle that ogivlado got and shared with me (thanks!)
After a dunkel from Weissenoher, another dunkel from Weissenoher. Ah, well. They look similar too, big thick tan head that went away at a medium pace perching on top of a red-amber body. Light coffeeish, slightly chocolatey nose is quite familiar too. Still, the taste sets it clearly apart from the Kloster-Sud. Chocolate, raisins, malt, light, maybe too light, nice, simple drinkable dunkel.
