COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

50cl fliptop bb09/2015 from Getränkecenter Schwabing. Earthy copper pour, rustic rust. Nose of toast, salt toffee, roast potatoes and baked banana. Savoury in taste as well, combing subtle buttered toast and fruity caramels (apple pie crust) on an earthy-dry palate. Nice fresh grassy hop zing current running on top of that, adding even more savouriness and a bitter walnut finish. Pretty light bodied and just a tad unbalanced maybe - but plenty of character to be had from this beer, and this brewery in general - one of those that seem harder to come by in Upper Bavaria than in Italian or US craft bars these days.

Purchased this as Weissenohe Monk’s Fest, 1 pint 9 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy, dim amber, with a light-tan head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is sweet with hints of orange and caramel. It has a medium body that is very smooth. Taste is sweet with flavors of caramel and bread. Overall, not too bad, but I am finding that the more I drink the more sweet and "sticky" it becomes on the palate. I’m not sure that I would want to drink more than one of these at a time.

Bottle. Light amber, small and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some bread and fain hoppynes. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, light caramel and some bread, faint hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, light bread with light hoppyness. Sweetish märzen with bread – too sweet.

Pours a clear amber with a thick white head. Aroma has light roastiness, dry leaves, and a very faint chocolate hint that is fleeting. Flavor has dry leaves and roasty malts...bready...still the faintest hint of fleeting chocolate...Some earthy hops. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with a dry earthy/dry leaves finish. Really pretty tasty.

Tap. Tawny copper clear hue. Bready, doughy, slightly sweet toffee aroma, and slight spice of all things. Slightly toffee, leaves, earth, grass, toffee again but dry. Medium slick body. This is a real fucking Oktoberfest.

The color’s deep caramel brown, with a touch of golden tone; ample tan foam, dissipating after a few minutes. Smells caramel-y sweet with a touch of fruit, sugar cookie dough. Nice caramel flavor with a touch of roasty bitterness, nice medium mouthfeel with somewhat bready, also somewhat creamy character. Really yummy, has character still easily drinkable. Cheers.
