Sammys (428), Portland, Maine, USA Jan 14, 2003 Thin, headless, and had a phony color to it. Very sweet smelling with no hop or for that matter, scotch aroma at all. Tasted phony and way too sweet. I drank this after asking my Parisien friend to suggest something unique to try. I’ll make sure I am in a different country next time.
Allen (632), Wölflinswil, Switzerland May 13, 2008 Bottled 25cl. It pours a clear amber beer with a quick diminishing tanned head. The nose is of malt, marshmallows and apples. Soapy with notes of marzipan. Some alcohol showing up. Extremely sweet taste. Notes of marshmallows. Syrupy. Low bitterness. Slightly metallic taste with hints of vegetables. Long sweet finish. faroeviking (4387), Faroese Autonomous Beer Republic, Denmark Jan 23, 2007 Bottle. Clear amber with a medium short lasting white head. Aroma of sweet malts and slight smokiness. Flavour has sweet malts with some smokiness, slight whisky touch. eyesandsmiles (178), Mission Viejo, California, USA Jan 21, 2007 Its surprisingly better than most of the other options in the Irish pubs around Cannes. Its definitely nothing special but its my choice during happy hour. detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Jan 13, 2007 Pours a clear, copper amber color, with light carbonation and a sparse head. Enticing peaty whiskey malt in the aroma.
Brewed with whiskey malt from the Scottish Highlands, the beer is on the sweet side, with flavors of bold caramel, candi sugar, and of course a fair amount of peat. Very smooth and mellow, peat and candi sugar in the aftertaste. No hops are detectable, but the beer was nicely balanced.
SHIG (1546), Oberoffligen, Germany Nov 22, 2006 Reddish brown with a light brown head. Sweet spicy alcohol, smoked malt aroma. Flavor was a similar smoked malt and slight metallic.
