Pours brilliant light amber, quickly diminishing head. Heavy malt aroma, little or no hop aroma, smells of mostly caramel and chocolate malt. Low hop bitterness for a bitter. I would categorize this as an English Mild rather than a best bitter. Itís alright.

Nutty aroma with some fruity esters coming through. Light brown colour with an off white head that fizzles away rather quickly. There is a touch of nuttiness and caramel in the flavour. Has a smooth mouth feel and a balanced finish.

Bottle. Caramel and nutty aroma. Taste is nice and malty with some good English hops. This is better than I remember. Nice English ale.

Big can in a tulip. Pours deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma of bread and grains, some dough, and light bitterness. Flavor the same. Average texture. Pretty boring, but maybe ok for the style?

Bottle. Deep gold/amber pour, white head. Light peppery aroma, malty caramel notes. Flavor is very light, subtle grassy hops, bitter but not hoppy. A bit light and watery. Palate is a little overcarbed for the light body. Good.

On tap. Clear brew with a burnt coppery colour, little head. Muted aroma, roast caramel and some weird green apple like note. Medium bodied, fast fisnish, watery mid palate and some caramel malt notes makes this a very boring beer. This beer reminds me of the older style of Ontario Craft beers that fail to be memorable.

Really nice beer - sort of like a harvest bitter. On cask at the brewery. Pours amber with a minimal head. Aroma is of light and biscuity malt, with lots of fresh English hops that contribute a flower and resiny aroma. Taste is light and balanced, with sweet light malt up front, and a mild hop bitterness towards the end.

on cask at the wooly. brownish red, minimal carbonation. the aroma was kind of earthy and sweet, but weak. The taste was much of the same - a bit of acidity, a bit of malt, but not much of anything. nice with pub food, but definitely boring on its own.

341 ml bottle @ Moon Room Ottawa. Pours a clear light amber with a pillowy white head. Aromas are funk and wet dog. Tastes are coppery malts, a little biscuit and roastiness, some caramel and borderline metallic. Light body, plenty of carbonation, and a short, slightly sweet finish. Interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Can, shared with TylerDurden. Medium orange-amber, aroma is caramel and grains, sweet and a little corny. Palate is grainy caramel, sweet and simplistic, but not in a positive way. This didnít appeal to me.

Pours a deep amber with an off white head. Aroma of fresh crystal malts. A hint of caramel. Flavour is rich but not too much for the style. Malts are balanced by a subtle bitterness just to keep it in check. Medium body. Finish is nice, dry and balanced with a lingering grainy flavour. Absolutely wonderful, the first bitter Iíve actually liked.

Bottle. Deep gold/amber pour, white head. Light peppery aroma, malty caramel notes. Flavor is very light, subtle grassy hops, bitter but not hoppy. A bit light and watery. Palate is a little overcarbed for the light body. Good.
