App.: Deep reddish-brown with a so-so light tan head.
Aroma: Some nice dark malt aromas – lightly nutty, some brown sugar and a touch of molasses, some dark dried fruitiness, some chocolate as it warms.
Palate: Medium body, fairly active effervescence, somewhat slick and smooth.
Flav.: Cola-like herbals, some molasses and brown sugar, a little nutty, not as fruity as the nose, some light chocolate; dry with a touch of bitterness and a light, pleasantly malty finish.
Quite tasty and quaffable. kiefdog (1586), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2009 Courtesy of kiefdog. Pours dark brown with gold edges and thin tan head. The aroma is roasty with chocolate and some molasses. The taste mirrors the notes noticed in the nose with tasty chocolate mixing with molasses. The beer ends with a bit of roastiness that dries out the flavor a tad. TampaBrew (805), Tampa, Florida, USA

I am guessing travel killed this beer based on other peoples ratings. Vertical Bacon Strips (889), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2009 oured out a clear but quite dark amber with a fizzy off white cap that fades to a ring. The aroma is upfront with the malts, brown sugar, dark caramel, roasted and a touch of coffee. The taste is pretty heavy on malts as well with weak coffee, roasted malts, caramel, fruit, the hops hide until the end. Very carbonated, light medium bodied. The mouth feel is so-so, nothing to remember but it is sufficient for the style. Dry, middle and end is a solid bitterness. Not to sure about this being classified as an English Pale Ale. Forgettable but tasty.
