3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 wilderthanyou (666) - Guelph, CANADA - NOV 5, 2011
Pours a slightly hazy burnt orange with a short lived fizzy cap. The aroma sweet bread and toffee, with light undernotes of herbal medicine. The flavour starts out with malty toffee sweetness, quickly balanced with a bit of rough hop bitterness that actually works, hops presence becomes stronger near the finish. Its pretty straight forward, but I like it, and it went really well with my chili.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pootzboy (1450) - Hawgville, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 19, 2011
473ml silver can. Poured an amber-gold ale in the glass. Modest white cap reduces in time and provides moderate lacing. Light carbonation. Aroma has some caramel sweetness, fruity ester and some herbal-herbaceous hop tones. Soft mouth feel but flavorful. Starts with a dose of chewy caramel malting well balanced with resinous hopping, mild palate, rounded character, long wet finish has the herbal wet hop kiss at the end. Not a bad little local bitter, I like the addition of the wet hops. Perhaps Wellington’s one off series will get more interesting as it progresses.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 neuromatt (858) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 12, 2011
On tap at the brewery, served in a tasting glass. Pours clear amber with a small, off-white head. The head fades slowly and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of biscuit, bread, buts and toasted grain, along with pine, flowers and herbs. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout with a light bitterness that increases towards the end. The finish is longish and slightly bitter with pine and caramel malts. On the palate, it is medium in body with a dry-milky texture and average carbonation. Overall, this is a decent nutty bitter that favours malts slightly. A very nice brew and one that I would like to try again. 2011-10-08

On cask at Burger Bar. Hazy ruby-amber with a large lasting mottled frothy beige head. Fairly intense floral/bitter aroma with bkack tea and strong caramel sweetness - taste has more worty sweetness and tea, less bitterness. Solid body, light carbonation, a medium semi-bitter dry earthy finish. Not amazing, but solid, and a real surprise from this mostly dull brewer; sign of better offerings in the future?

2011-09-23. Crisp dark amber body, headless. Mild aroma, light hops, bit fruity. 6+ Flavour is similarly fruity, mild hoppy bitterness throughout, and a bit of a grainy aftertaste. 6+ Average bodied palate. Enjoyable but just okay. Needs a bit more of something to bring you back into it. Cask at Premium Beer Experience, Toronto Beer Week
