Brownish colour, small head, decent malt aroma. Bitter roasted coffee. I was not fun of this one, to one dimensional, needs something more...

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Strong apple aroma. Brown color, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, smooth, nice hops, fruits like old apple. Long lasting finish with hops and a little burn. Not exceptional but very nice.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light, malty, nutty aroma. Dark amber with cream coloured head. Rich malty, full bodied, strong sweet raisiny taste, flavour and aroma hops used, (fuggles i think). Rather thin lingering finish.

Despite the deep amber colour, brown-hued head and definite malt aroma, this ale was not as heavy as I expected. The body is malty and sweet, and leaves behind a bitter coffee aftertaste which is not unpleasant. It does seem to improve with time, and I enjoyed the beer more as I neared the bottom of the pint glass, since the beer lost some of its carbonation and gained a smoother feel and more sweetness. This leads me to think it could be delicious as a non-carbonated cask ale.

Dark red. Very fruity nose with a touch of hops. Good maltiness, hints of fruit and alcohol in the body. Finishes nicely bitter. Another quality offering from Wellington.

I’m not the biggest fan of English Strongs, but this one is quite good...and a fair representative of the style, I think. Malts are a bit sweet.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Conspicuous fruity malt heading a herd of fine caramel, licorice and candy sugar…And a sturdy bitterness stays at the back to make sure no one goes astray…And of course no one does…Beautiful beer…

Sweet floral aroma, auburn, slim head. Coffee, chicory flavour, also roated malts. Fine bitterness, very smooth, complex. Really good ale.
