Dark brown. Rather malty, roasty, salty with lingering bitterness. Full bodied beer with lots of flavour.

Bov (4659), Bienne, Switzerland Dec 28, 2000 dark brown colour, chocolate and cherry aroma, malty, sweet, caramel aftertaste - very pleasant hopscotch (4588), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 26, 2003 This beer rocks!
Sparkling clear and as coppery as a freshley-minted penny. Not much of a head.
Some chocolate notes and yeasty, doughy characteristics along with geueze in the aroma.
Very malty flavor with rich cream and butter in the flavor. Sherry and alcohol too.
Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Lengthy, bittersweet finish. World Class Brew! JorisPPattyn (4500), Antwerpen, Belgium May 7, 2005 Yellow-brown, creamy head, slightly irregular; brown beer with deep red highlights. Rich plumcake nose, some hops, cookies and horse straw. Sweetish base taste, cake-like with a lot of bitter overtones: USA hops but some bitterish-roasted notes as well. Good malt filling, some esters. Well-bodied, chewy, no adstringency. Nice but a bit stereotypical N. American. "English" strong ale - sure but not one from the UK, way to American hoppy for that.
