This is a light beer, make no mistake about it. Why it’s not marketed that way is beyond comprehension. It pours a nice pale yellow colour, lots of haze, and a frothy white cap. cereal malt and wheat make up the aroma while the flavour was reminiscent of dishwater.

From can. I can’t help but think the brewing recipe for this beer has changed over its short lifespan. Originally full of flavour for a wheat beer it seems a bit more bland when I try it now. Still at least average.

Can: Finally got around to reviewing this one. Had it on tap a few times and was unimpressed so I hung off commenting, Recently I grabbed a few fresh cans at the brewery when at a one off tasting and just cracked them yesterday after mowing the lawn in 32deg.C weather. Yes they bust thirst like an ice bath but beyond that it had enough wheat character to be very flavorful as well. Poured a clear light goad with a bodacious puffy white cap that lasts. Medium carbonation, clean dry character. Flavor has a big dose of dry biscuity malts and enough hops to balance, unapologetically uncomplicated with a clean, crisp dry wheaty finish. Changed my attitude with this beer – if you are going to drink lite beer drink this one – big flavor and light dry character.

473ml can. Cloudy yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, apricot, hops and a little grass. Couldn’t find the wheat in the taste.

473ml can. Agree with most others. It's ho-hum at best. Decent head, dies fast. Lace is marginal. Actually impressed with the clarity of this wheat beer (Lovibond 3). Tha aroma is faintly floral. Tastes quite bland though. Only the slightest bitterness in the finish. Lacks pep and carbonation.

Not that great. I loved the look in the glass (and whoever made Wellington’s cans should win a prize BTW) but it just had a flat flavour... wheat beers CAN be complex. I guess if I were testing metals I could say it was a blissful concoction, tin iron and aluminium rolled up into a drink, but this isn’t rateore.com and this gets a 2.1.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
April 25 2012. 473ml can poured into frosted hoegaarden mug. Not as cloudy as I expected (but hard to say in a frosty cold glass). Tight white head like meringue left a surprisingly wonderful lacing from top to bottom. Aroma of sweet grass. Terribly light in flavour and palate. Aftertaste of grass and yeast. Is this really a Wellington? Too bad.

Malted wheat and german noble hops. Golden straw in appearance. Nice amount of head, pours very nicely. Very drinkable. Grainy, bready, slightly grassy hops

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
The pour is a golden straw with a figner or so of white head. Some nice thick lacing and good carbonation. The nose is grainy with a floral hop and a bland yeast. Some light spice and malt sweetness. The taste is light malted in the middle with some sweetness and a grainy taste. The finish has a light grassy hop and a mild yeast and spice. Overall, a light but tasty session offering.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
can purchased directly from the Wellington Brewery in Guelph. pours hazy yellow with a white head. Generic wheat beer taste. There is something indistinguishable about one of the flavors in this beer. It’s not completely generic but it tastes almost incomplete and unbalanced, like some random spice was haphazardly added. Does not live up to the reputation of the other Wellington beers.
