3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Fairly opaque dark brown with ring of tan head. Aromas dark fruit and toffee. Taste is sweet-dry-hint sour with a crisp-rich medium palate. Taste dried dates and stewed apples, toffee malts, a prickle of noble hops sets it off very well. Satisfying and balanced, not sticky sweet.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black ruby in the light. Comes on very watery in the beginning. Has the follow through of a lot of coffee, hard grain. A little lacing. Smell isnt super great in the beginning, a little murky even but the coffee comes out in the end. Hits you from nowhere at the finish - great aftertaste. Cask at Only Cafe.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This porter poured a deep black colour with a tan coloured, soapy head that took a vigorous pour to create. No lacing. To the nose there are scents of caramel, molassass, dough and light coffee. First sip was very flavourful with flavours of coffee and roasted malt most prodominant. Med to Thick mouthfeel, somewhat sweet. Finish is roasted with caramel and smoke flavours lingering.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
473mL can from the brewery. Pours a mostly clear, very dark brown with a tiny head. Aroma: Wellington character, roasted malts, anise, toffee, chocolate. Flavour: very sweet, but not cloyingly, chocolate-syrupy, minor dryness coming from somewhere but I’m not quite sure. Some residual demerera-esque sugars. No booze in the feeling or flavour, and the carbonation is quite minimal which is something I tend to appreciate. Not a bad one from Wellington, certainly nothing like their Imperial Stout, the only other product they offer that would be theoretically similar. It seems pretty green at this point, and I’m willing to bet that if you let it sit in the fridge for a month or so it would really end up well-rounded.
