This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

TAsted LIKE BANANA bread. sweet, banana smell and taste. Worth trying. I probably wouldn’t get this again, but it was interesting to taste.

Pours a clear light amber with a frothy but somewhat fizzy beige head. Nice pure banana oil aroma, similar to banana flavored candy. I also get some brown sugar and pumpkin pie spices. Flavor has some banana, but it’s more pithy than sweet and there’s not a lot of it in the first place. An earthy hoppiness and bready malts make up the bulk of the flavor, presumably because the base beer is an ESB. Mouthfeel is a little thin for a beer named after a rich and chewy confection. Carbonation is a little too high. Not bad.

Pours an deep copper with quick diminishing bubbly head. Aroma is strong banana’s and some spiciness. Flavor of artificial banana, spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove and ends with a slight bitterness. Palate reminds me a lot of pumpkin ales...it has the same buttery/oily texture. Overall, I was disappointed...I love banana’s, but this tasted so artificial.

Bottle best by 31/07/09. Poured amber with a tall frothy off-white head that has some lasting and left good lacing. Aromas of banana and wheat. The flavor found mainly banana with a candy like presents and light wheat. Light body, sweet, and slightly tingly.

An interesting ale brought to my attention by Ron. Smell at 1st is grassy then overwhelming ripe bananas take over. Palate is similar but opposite, starts with ripe banana, then switches over to hops , quite a bit for an English-style. A pleasing product. Byt the way this is copper colored with minimal head and lacing.

500ml bottle. Very unusual beer. Deep copper colour with very strong banana aroma that assaults the nose as you pour. Thin white head with sweet banana notes. Everything about bthis beer is bananaish.

This beer thoroughly succeeded in what it set out to do, that is, to be banana bread in a bottle. There are much better beers out there, but in the exclusive "tastes like banana bread" group, this one takes top marks. It’s definitely not one that you want to plan an entire evening around...

And, that’s just what it is: banana beer. Nothing special about the rest of the beer, besides the banana taste. Very thin and weak, but it sure tasted like bananas.

1 pt. bottle. I didn’t figure the English for a banana beer. A copper color with a solid white head which fades pretty quickly. The smell is a dead ringer for banana runts. Some bread and spice notes as well. Low carbonation with a light mouthfeel. The taste is like a loaf of banana bread, including the spice. Hints of clove and cinnamon are there too. A solid bitterness in the back helps round things out. Pretty clean finish considering all that’s going on. While I wouldn’t want to drink it all night long, it is something out of the ordinary that is well put together. I would definitely have this beer again.
