This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

Pours a somehow dull, though not at all hazy darkish amber with a 1 finger white head that fades somewhat quickly to a thick creamy skim. Aroma is Banana Laffy Taffy, a little toast, passion fruit, banana bread, a little toasty and caramel, planty hops. Flavor is overripe banana without the sweetness, toasted sweet bread, nutmeg, a little dry toast and some dry nuttiness and some spicy hops. This beer would have been much better with some body and more sweetness to the flavor. I really can’t stand gimicky beers that suck.

500ml Bottle - Amber/copper in colour. Banana and spicy malt in the aroma. Banana features strongly in the slightly sterile taste along with toffee, some spicy malty and some dry and peppery hops. Would like to see it bottle conditioned but I still like this.

16.9 oz. bottle. Gift from Greg. Pours an off white head, good duration, minimal lacing, over a clear coppery body.....nose of banana initially and then a bit of malt...tastes of mild malt then fruitness comes in finishing dry...mouth feel is very light. This should be labeled a fruit beer not an English strong Ale. I won’t taste this again.

very malty aroma and the scent of banana is evident immediately. flavor is on the malty side and i get a bit of nuttiness and the banana is not overpowering or too sweet. the head is thin and the mouthfeel is light and it finishes crisp and dry leaving a definite banana bread flavor. much better than i expected...i would love to try the cask version some day.

bottle poured a light amber color with a thin white head and a small amount of fine carbonation. aroma has fresh mashed banana, sweet tropical fruit, custard, and dough. very interesting and does not have that extract thing. light mouth feel does come off on the thin side. flavor again has fresh banana, dough, light yeast but without banana, and some slight bitterness. finish is short and just lacks much to be of interest. well worth trying but not sure i will revisit this one.

Pours a crystal clear light brown color with a small white head. Aroma is very heavy banana, yes a bit candy-like but honestly I don’t feel its too overwhelmingly fake, but strange definitely. Some malt and other fruits are also present although hidden behind the banana. Flavor is mostly banana as expected. Hints of sweet citrus in the finish and a slight bitterness that lingers. Some grainy malts which make the the bread portion of the name. Medium body and moderate carbonation. I dont altogether hate this beer like some do, but it feels too one dimensional, like it needed some other bit of complexity or a hop character.

[500ml bottle, gift from Maureen & Dave - cheers!] Clear copper, minimal head. Smell completely dominated by fake banana. Initial taste also fake banana, but some cardboard and malty bread emerge after a while. Sweet, but not in a sickly way - it somehow just about balances out the sweetness with the malt. Instead its the grotesque and all dominating banana flavour that makes you feel ill - and repeats on you all night. I would agree with those who say this should be classed as a fruit beer. It proves that banana and beer is simply not a working combination - I would imagine that this sells on the novelty factor alone as I cannott imagine anyone becoming a regular drinker.

Pours a transparent golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of banana much like banana runts...malt and spices. Flavor is banana, sweet malts, bread and spices. No false advertising here, this is a interesting brew......glad to have tried it but I wouldnt seek it out on a regular basis.

Aroma is, you guessed it. Storng banana. The color is so light it looks anemic. Flavor is overwhelmingly banana. This should be a fruit beer instead of a strong ale

Bottle: Intense banana aroma, real banana bread aroma and taste, truly liquid bread. Drank in San Diego as part of a different styles tasting. this was different in a good way.
