This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

let’s see, aroma of banana, after-taste of banana, not real carbonation throughout but a good head, dark hue, sweet, would try again

The best banana beer i’ve tried, not that i’m into that sort of thing, not that there’s anything wrong with that..it’ just...get a bottle, try it but take it easy with it and sandwich it in with other full-flavor ales.the banana taste is actually a lot lighter than you would expect after a sniff,,,but ’tis still strong,it still blows away 90% of fruit ’eavy lambics

Lucked into this one during a slow night at The Aldgate when the owner pulled it out and let the few of us there have a bit. Reddish orange with a small head. Aroma is sugary banana, some malts. Medium, smooth body. If you’ve ever had the banana flavored Runts candy then you know what this beer tastes like. Slightly bitter, sugary finish. Interesting to say the least but there is no way I could down a whole one of these.

The bottle from Keller’s IGA says it contains "1 Pint, 3.25 fl. Oz." Sweet banana-like aroma, clear amber color, minimal head that diminished rapidly, thin body, light bitter/sour flavor seemed to hide behind the carbonation, slight banana flavor most apparent in the finish/aftertaste. Not unpleasant but nothing to write home about.

Orange/peachy color, small foam action...tan color...actually smells like na-na bread, with a nice yeast mingled in ...on a further sniff, the na-na’s smell very artificial, and have an almost dehydrated quality...nice lacing forming...body is thin has a slight bitter aftertaste, but lots of bananas...tasty, yet finish is weak...watery...higher overall for originality

Bottle purchased at the Wet Grocer in Gunnison, CO. Pours clear amber with an average, rocky, off-white head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, meal), light hops (grass), average yeast (dough) with notes of banana. Light bodied, thin texture, average carbonation, and a metallic finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2008 Appearance: Pours a crystal clear amber body with a full, foamy white head. Smell: Banana-laden aroma more reminiscient of a taffy than a banana bread. Faint spiciness in the background. Taste: Biscuit malt flavor with a brief, mild caramel sweetness. The banana addition, though strong in the aroma, eases up in the taste to allow the mildly bready malts to step forward. Hint of graininess. Spicy hop finish with a light bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Drinkability: These novelty beers are pretty hit or miss, usually miss, but this isn’t half bad! I’d honestly try this one again sometime.

This rates out higher than I intended because I really enjoyed the aroma, which was a sweet candy scent that reminded me of a banana popsicle. Other than that, the pour was a medium golden color with thin white head that dissipated quickly to little lacing. Body was thin and dry, and the flavor, while slight banana, was nowhere near what the nose was. What there was tended to be more uncooked banana dough, and not bread. Finish was a bit stale and dry, and did not give the sweet banana finish that I experience from banana bread. Cute idea, but nothing to write home about.

Smells hoppy. Decent deep brown ale, pours leaving quite a bit of head. Almost fizzy on the tongue to start with. Balanced banana flavour, not too heavy..not too light. Quite smooth once it’s had a chance to settle. Not a bad after taste with a nice hint of banana. Would drink it again, when in the mood for banana.
