2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
My wife bought this for me LOL
Bottle poured into a Sam Adams glass produced a finger worth of white head that turned into a thin lace on top of an amber brown body.
The aromas of banana and, bread wow what a concept. It did smell good I will give it that.
It tastes like banana too, so if you like that you will enjoy it. The mouthfeel is light and crisp.
The beer is very unique, I will say that much. It was worth trying but I don’t think I could drink more than one at a sitting.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sample from January 24, 2009 Beer Club meeting. Yellow color with orange hues. Slow carbonation. Smells JUST LIKE banana bread! Flavor is the same, but very spiced.. so much so that it seems too complex for my tongue. I think it’s one of those things that’s better smelled than tasted. Like... some perfumes smell nice, but you definitely don’t want to drink them.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. Poured clear lighter orange with a well-retained cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up banana-flavored Runts with a little clove and nutmeg you may find in banana bread.. very sweet and perhaps I shouldn’t have liked it, but it was intriguing. The flavor was sweet as well with toasty, sticky banana at the core.. light sourness and herbal accents at the edges, picking up steam as it warmed.. the finish was a bit astringent with more of the Runts. Medium-bodied and kinda sharp on the palate.. OK overall.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Not acceptable. Tried to pair this with fresh baked banana bread and it was awful. Pours and tastes like a skunky pilsner with the aroma and cloying flavor of underripe bananas. Seemingly void of malt and a source of sweetness.

2.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Being a huge banana fan I was definitely excited to try this beer. It was very, very disappointing. The aroma is definitely heavy banana with some spice undertones. Body is extremely thin and carbonated to the point of negatively affecting the taste. If this beer was a well made stout, porter or even a brown ale with a fuller body it would probably be delicious. Instead it tastes like a Bud with a banana jammed into the top of the bottle.

3.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear dark golden color with almost no head. Literally smells like liquid banana bread. Nice malty flavor with the banana flavor much more subtle than the smell would suggest. Moderately high carbonation with a dry finish.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a transparent golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of banana much like banana runts...malt and spices. Flavor is banana, sweet malts, bread and spices. No false advertising here, this is a interesting brew......glad to have tried it but I wouldnt seek it out on a regular basis.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2009 Not too bad. Has more of a malty aroma to it than I was expecting. I figured that it would have more of a banana aroma rather than just the very subtle hints of it. Has a dark copper/light brown murky color. Tastes mainly of malts with very little banana. Seems to be very carbonated. Aftertaste leaves a little bite in the end. Overall, I’m happy to have tried this one.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a somehow dull, though not at all hazy darkish amber with a 1 finger white head that fades somewhat quickly to a thick creamy skim. Aroma is Banana Laffy Taffy, a little toast, passion fruit, banana bread, a little toasty and caramel, planty hops. Flavor is overripe banana without the sweetness, toasted sweet bread, nutmeg, a little dry toast and some dry nuttiness and some spicy hops. This beer would have been much better with some body and more sweetness to the flavor. I really can’t stand gimicky beers that suck.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml Bottle - Amber/copper in colour. Banana and spicy malt in the aroma. Banana features strongly in the slightly sterile taste along with toffee, some spicy malty and some dry and peppery hops. Would like to see it bottle conditioned but I still like this.
