Tasted 2007-04-12. Fresh bottle, 56,8cl. Clear toffee/orange colour. White head. Nice, but looks a bit too clean to get top grade. Aroma: ripe banana. It’s almost possible to sense that this is a beer and not a pile of bananas. Funny! Taste is very malty. Bananas dominate the taste but not as much as in the aroma. There’s little to no bitterness at the end. Not a big taste, but yet a good taste!

500ml bottle; Pours a nice light amber, almost with an orange hue, lightly active with a thin but rocky head. The aroma belongs on a hefeweizen, not an English Strong Ale, yeasty and banana-laced. But once I start to consume it, the name of the beer becomes most logical. This really does taste just like the homemade banana bread I just had in the house this week ... well, it’s bready and banana-y ... but not in some obtuse way. This is actually quite drinkable. And different. Well done. (#3046, 8/1/2007)

bottle. light copper pour wi many rising bubbles to thin foamy off white head. hops, spice, and malts all drowned out by the banana bread aroma. light and clean. slightly metallic. light hops and malts, wheat, banana and spice. better than I expected.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
If you like banana bread, you’ll like this beer - unless you prefer banana bread on a plate as opposed to in a glass. Smells like banana bread and tastes like banana bread. Nothing subtle or complex,

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Decent sized frothy white head of fine bubbles. Distinct banana aroma along with a bit of dry grass, some nutmeg and some bready malts. Color is a medium golden orange. Sweet and crisp flavor with more bananas. Actually, it tastes very much like banana bread. Light spicyness and dryness. Crisp finish with some lingering bready malts and spices. Interestng but I really don’t think that this is an English Strong though.

(19.25oz bottle, BB 30/11/07): Pours a golden brown color, fizzy, with a big white lasting foamy head. Very strong ripe banana aroma, a little hops, but mostly bananas. Banana malty taste, banana aftertaste. Bottled water taste. Not much else. Interesting, but this will be my last.

1 pint bottle at The Queen Adelaide, Wandsworth, 17th June 2006. Cracking aroma of banana bread (reminds me of my holiday in Barbados) but an unispiring appearance: flat, bland amber pint. The flavour is swamped by banana, with some yeast and hops hidden underneath. The finish is that of a normal bitter. Overall, glad I tried it, but I wouldn’t drink this regularly. Feel free to add to the score if you adore bananas!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber with a decent white head. Aroma of bananas and brown sugar. Flavour of yet more bananas with some malt before a hint of a bitter finish. One dimensional.
