This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

Bottle at Brickskeller. Sounds like a gimmick, a beer that smells and tastes like banana bread. The beer is pleasant, though the bottle is too large in my opinion to enjoy for consumption by one person - I started to get tired of the banana bread taste a little more than halfway though.

Part of Syd’s weak beer fest (even though it is labeled as an english Strong Ale). 568 ml Bottle pours a crystal clear copper amber color with a decent and clingy head. The aroma is very ripe banana. That’s right, just very ripe banana. The flavor is has some dry malt, lots of banana flavor, some bread, and some faint hops. The palate is medium rich and lively. This one is a love hate sort of thing. The aroma is nice, the flavor and palate seem OK, but put everything together and rate it as a whole, I’m quite indifferent to it all. Yeah, this is weird. I brought it home as it sounded interesting, but I’m not a fan. Quite nasty as it warms.

pours a transparent golden copper color with a quickly disappearing head. scent is of bananas and some hops. nice mouth feel. the banana flavor makes for an interesting sensation. a decent beer, but probably not one that i would purchase again.

Bottle. Smells like banana, even like banana bread. Copper amber color with an offwhite head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is malt, banana and nutty spice. Finish is not quite so pleasant as the start; there’s something bitter, which doesn’t go that well with banana. That clears up though, and in the end it’s dry with remnants of banana. Definitely not a hefe. Overall it’s pretty tasty.

568 ml. Clear shiny copper with a small, lasting head. Aroma is banana and spices. Flavor is banana bread with walnuts and spices! Some nice bittering hops balance on the end. Unique and pretty nice really. Light-medium body is slightly dry.

Big 568ml bottle. Large amount of ripe bananas in the nose followed by a sweet walnut flavor. How bizarre. Deep golden orange color. Frothy white head. Rich crystal malt character. Clean crisp bitterness from the Challenger and Goldings hops. Finishes with the ripened banana flavor. Nuttiness from the malt, well balanced bitterness, and fruity banana all add up to an unique beer experience. Cheers!

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2009 Big thanks to GMCC2181 for sending this my way for my girl’s BDay! This is actually her score and notes, as I was underwhelmed with everything expect the aroma. "Aroma is fresh out of the oven bana bread with walnuts. Appearance is amber color, with an active fizz. The flavor delivers precisely what it promises with a distinct banabread flavor. Aftertaste is bana nut bread and it is overall a delightful novelty beer" My gf LOVED it, me...well, not so much, but it wasn’t my damn bday, so the right person loved it in this case! Thanks again Gabe!!

bottle. pours a clear amber with a thin off-white head. it smells just like banana candy. a bit of banana in the flavor as well as some nuts mingled in with hop bitterness. has a very crisp feel, maybe it is a bit too cold. finishes dry. not the best beer I have ever had but what more do you want from a beer that claims to be brewed with bananas.

bottle- like a homebrew experiment gone somewhat wrong, but still resulting in a drinkable beer. Just way too many unfermentables in there. And I got the banana a bit, but where’s the bread. This thing is really thin as well. Disappointed.
