This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

Bottled. Very fruity, mostly banana of course, but not like in a Hefeweizen. Amber color, off-white head, fair lace. Less sweet than expected. Herbal on swallowing and pretty bitter. Banana first in the background and later on more prominent. Sparkling, lively. Less bad then I thought it would be.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a small lingering light amber head. Aromas of banana, carmel and a hint of nuts. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread, carmel and light banana with a crisp lightly sweet finish. Smells better than it tastes.

Bottle. Clear orange with a medium head. Aroma of banana (ice cream) and malt in equal proportions. Finishes with just a bit of bitterness. Drinkable, and much better that I was expecting.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2007 19.25 oz. brown stubby bottle. best before 11/30/07. Poured out a light caramel color, with a flat white head. Aromas are of bananas, solvents, banana extract. Flavors are of banana extract, some chalky malts, and a dirt finish. A little too dry for my palate. Thin body, watery mouthfeel. OK to try once, but nothing to go out of your way for.

Bottle at the Copenhagen Beer Festival 2007. Dark orange with a light head. Aroma moderate malty (banana). Flavor heavy sweet and acidic. Watery, flat.

Bright gold body with a dissipating cottony white head. Aroma and flavor of sweet banana flavoring. As in banana bubble gum, banana taffy, banana ice cream, etc. Some cinnamon hop spice in the background, plus light sweet maple malt. Finishes with some tartness and modest bitterness. Novel, but contrived and fails to redeem itself with any really value as a beer. Maybe Young’s should follow this up with Green Apple Beer, Strawberry Beer, Grape Beer, etc. Maybe not. Incidentally, this is a fruit beer. Duh.

Pour is clear amber with a thin off white head...smell is rich with musty bananas and tin...ewwwww...taste is sharp and sweet with a wool like banana something or other going on...gross.

I am really surprised at all the low ratings for this one, actually...This was actually one of the first fruit beers that I have truly enjoyed...Had on tap at the Winking Lizard. Aromas of just a hint of banana...Taste was sweet malts, slight banana, some caramel, followed by just a bit of bitterness on the finish. Not what I was expecting at all. I really thought it would be sugary sweet, and instead, I found it to be a perfectly drinkable fun beer to indulge in once in a while. Outstanding? No, but certainly a decent attempt at a fruit beer.

On tap at the winking lizard - Bland, boring, unexciting, and not worth the time, trouble, or the money. It was watery and bland with a slight artificial banana aftertaste.

On tap at the winking lizard - Pours amber with a short offwhite head that faded pretty quick. Aromas of caramel and banana. Flavor is caramel with banana. The banana isn’t overpowering and actually adds pretty decent flavor to this one. Slight bitterness on the finish. Fairly smooth and easy drinking on the palate. This was better honestly than I expected it to be but still nothing great.
