3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 15, 2008 Appearance: Pours a crystal clear amber body with a full, foamy white head.
Smell: Banana-laden aroma more reminiscient of a taffy than a banana bread. Faint spiciness in the background.
Taste: Biscuit malt flavor with a brief, mild caramel sweetness. The banana addition, though strong in the aroma, eases up in the taste to allow the mildly bready malts to step forward. Hint of graininess. Spicy hop finish with a light bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: These novelty beers are pretty hit or miss, usually miss, but this isnít half bad! Iíd honestly try this one again sometime.

3.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
This rates out higher than I intended because I really enjoyed the aroma, which was a sweet candy scent that reminded me of a banana popsicle. Other than that, the pour was a medium golden color with thin white head that dissipated quickly to little lacing. Body was thin and dry, and the flavor, while slight banana, was nowhere near what the nose was. What there was tended to be more uncooked banana dough, and not bread. Finish was a bit stale and dry, and did not give the sweet banana finish that I experience from banana bread.
Cute idea, but nothing to write home about.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smells hoppy. Decent deep brown ale, pours leaving quite a bit of head. Almost fizzy on the tongue to start with. Balanced banana flavour, not too heavy..not too light. Quite smooth once itís had a chance to settle. Not a bad after taste with a nice hint of banana. Would drink it again, when in the mood for banana.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Golden color - medium head. Yeah, it smells like banana bread alright. Taste is kind of thin and off-putting. Bananas, yeast and not much else to go on. Intereting gimmick, but Iíll pass next time.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Banana aromas like a hefe, bready and yeasty. Pours cloudy amber. Smooth malts and BANANA, almost artificial flavors, bready and yeasty. Interesting not great.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Dark golden colored with large, thin head. Light lacing. Very light taste. The aroma and taste are naturally, stong banana. SOmehow this one seems thinner than the one I had in the past.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The aroma is a strong candy banana. The taste is a very strong banana with the hint of bread creeping around in there. The finish comes off with a very small hint of bitter, as the commercial description indicates. Kind of a gimiky idea, but interesting enough to try.

Smells like banana bread. Taste like banana bread. Really, though, itís much better than I anticipated. The 2 oz. sample was enough though.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at The Spread Eagle, Camden. Pours amber with a goo, creamy off-white head. Exciting fruity caramel aroma, but banana is quite prominent. Flavours are moderately bitter with banana shining through. Some caramel as well. Drinkable.
