UPDATED: MAY 5, 2014 This beer tastes like banana Bread to me, which is what is in the name of the beer. I find it very enjoyable. I like it. Not to sure about the clear bottle tho.

Pours a clear mahogany color with plenty of bubbles and a foamy white head. Has a nice aroma of banana bread. Taste is a little less enjoyable. Ripe banana is the most prominent flavor, but the banana is more candy-like than fruit. Has a creamy feel, with a very small amount of bitterness to prevent this from being too sweet. Finish also has lots of carbonation, which makes this feel more like a pop, such as Vernorís. This is okay, but also makes feel a bit sick to my stomach.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a deep golden color, medium white head, decent retention and excellent lacing. Nose is malt, heavy banana, caramel, hint of metallic. Mouth is medium bodied, banana and malt forward, some cereal, brea and nutty finish with banana in the fade-away. Tastes pretty much as advertised: like banana bread (only not as sweet). Not a bad little beer.

Strange beer, I donít know if it can be considered a fruit beer. When is poured an orange beer is seen with a small and unstable foam head which dissipate very quickly leaving just a small ring. The aroma of course has increased banana notes and also some bubble gum and vanilla, sadly those ones overcome on the malt or hops ones. In palate has a light - medium body, the malt is felt slightly, and the bitterness of the hops to, but I think the banana flavor is too much and almost kills the others, leaving an artificial sensation in the mouth.

Pour from an 11.2 oz. bottle. Smells like artificial banana, like a banana popsicle. Sweet and slightly vegetal aroma features caramel, muffin, and cinnamon scents. Pours a totally clear, still brass with a small amount of beige head. One of the most boring looking beers I have seen. Sweet and artificial flavor that barely registers as banana. Lemon, honey, and apricot elements in the taste. Also chemicals, cough drops, and minerals. It tastes generically pseudo-fruity, but not particularly banana-esque. Not gross but definitely not good in flavor. Dry, chemical-y aftertaste. Light body. Watery and insubstantial in the palate, though reasonably lively. Easy to drink. I love actual banana bread. I see no reason why a well done banana beer should not taste like banana bread. This does not taste like banana bread. This is not a well done banana beer. Thereís an artificial taste to it. It was almost a "drain pour," (I actually cook with my rare "drain pours," and I encourage anyone reading this review to do the same), but I rallied and finished it. Itís not disgusting, but it is offputting. This did give me what I think is a good idea for a beer: A Caribbean-inspired plantain export stout, where the plantain, which is much drier than a banana, acts like a potato in a potato stout. Get on this immediately, Cigar City! (Please stay away from this idea, Wells & Youngs).

Bottel. Pours an orange amber with light head. Flavor of oil and rancid bananas. Flavors are similar though more palatable. Overall just unique. Not worth trying again.

Poured an attractive light-red amber with average head that diminished to an oily slick. Aroma of sweet banana but not so much of bread, touch of vanilla and bubblegum. Taste initially of light sweet malt, moving to a mouthful of banana and bubblegum, finish is long and distinctly resembles the aftertaste from eating a slightly under-ripe banana.Creamy on palate, though a bit thin bodied, good length to finish. A solid novelty beer.

Bottle Makro Cape Town. Pours clear copper honey orange with light head and medium carbonation. Aroma is banana caramel sweets and custard. Taste is sweet and very light bitter. Overall slight artificial with sweet and banana but not bad.
