This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

It has a slight banana lolly aroma. Little to no head. The taste remimiscient of banana lolly mixed with real bananas and a slight bready/biscuity taste. Aftertaste is smooth with an average bitterness. Something different to have a crack at but couldn’t drink more than one or two in a row.

(Rating #5491)

Smells of ripe bannanas. Malty and slightly spicy with a touch of bitter to finish. Fantastic beer

A Banana Bread Beer in a clean bottle? That gives low expectations yet also spurs interest in the ticker inside me. The brown clean body and stable yet lift that expectation a bit, and the aroma further. Absolutely a true banana bread aroma with ripe banana, sticky brown bread, some raison, some resin, dades and a faint herbal hop. Fairly bitter actually, and a dryness that I relate to easting a banana, but surely that’s because I know its ingredients. Not bad at all, especially since I’m not a huge banana fan. Positive surprise. I also love the irony of a 5% abv ’Strong Ale’. Only in England. ;) (50cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Bottle - amber beer with a thin beige head. Banana aroma and flavour. But not to compare with "Weizen banana aroma". The rest is quite boring. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation.

Pours a transparent amber with little head. Slight smell of stale bananas. Taste is heavy on bananas and a bit metallic. Banana aftertaste lingers a bit. Not a great beer but rather average. Worth a try.

Poured out of a bottle into a Tulip. Bottled on 24-Jun-2013.

Banana reminiscent of Laffy taffy and Circus Peanuts! (the chewy candy, not the actual nut.) Hint of caramel malt. Low diacetyl detected. No alcohol. No hops.

High clarity, dark golden, leaning towards amber. Moderate head quickly reduces to a lacing around the edge of the glass.

When the beer first enters your maw nothing specific jumps out. Move it around a bit and you’re first greeted with a subdued banana flavor, followed by a hop bitterness, then more banana and a solid dose of pale malt, breadiness and biscuitiness, followed by a finish of more hop bitterness. As the beer warms more of the malt profile shines through, rounding the beer out a bit and making it more balanced.

Light-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Dry finish.

Overall Impression
This beer’s had a good rep in the beer world, and there aren’t many banana beers out there. For what it is I think it’s a well-made, pretty well-balanced beer. Overall the banana-ness tastes and smells a bit artificial to me. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but if you’re expecting a fresh banana experience you’ll be a bit disappointed. Not overly sweet, so you could definitely drink more than one of them without palate fatigue.

Cerveja de coloração dourado escuro, aroma suave de banana e adocicada na medida certa, sem amargor, uma boa experiência.

Big banana and grain flavor. Tasty and somewhat low alcohol-usually what I buy for people who don’t like beer. They usually like this one. Has a little bit of a bitter finish, but it is mostly overwhelmed by banana.
