2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle. Looks pretty good, deep gold with some white head. Smell is bananas and malt with a little spice so that’s on track. Body is decent for a mass produced beer, no complaints. The taste starts off fine, banana, a little sweetness, some bread and spice but then it happens. About 3 drinks in I get this metallic/chemical not-quite-bitterness as an aftertaste. Must be the "steely dryness". Drinking more only made it worse. Poured out the rest of the bottle and tried to get the taste out with cheap domestic beer. Failed. Tried some rum, partial success. Taste was still lingering in the back of my mouth the next day.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap pour (not cask) - sampler size - medium brown with off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, banana, somewhat yeasty...not particularly intense, but that might have been a good thing. Flavor has the feel of banana bread, but in a similar fashion, is not overdone - a yeasty, bready undertone with subtle, not overpowering flavors of banana. Admittedly, I was partaking of this amongst a number of stouts, including GI BCS, so it was like the youngest kid on the playground, but it wasn’t a bad brew by any means. I went into this hoping it wouldn’t be offensive, and while I didn’t love it, it turned out about as good as I could expect - though I’d still rather have some good banana bread!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
11.2 fl. Oz bottle. Pours a clear copper with a one finger, off-white head that thins quickly.
Aroma is a big banana mixed with nutmeg.
Taste matches the smell. Slight bitter but tasty and not overly sweet.
Medium body and carbonation. Clean and refreshing in the mouth.
Overall exactly what it says it is. Lots of banana bread flavour but still lots of beer mixed in. Would by again.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
In the bottle complementing steak at a Japanese grill style restaurant. The bananas are there. You can smell them. I’ve had a bottle. I’d drink another if someone offer but I don’t need to buy it for myself.

Pours amber with white head. In aroma - surprise, surprise - bananas, bread and some spice. Taste - liquid bread with bananas. A little bit sweet, but really something different to drink. So good beer ...

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Anyway this beer has a golden hue with just a touch of amber and a thin off white head. For a beer it smells peculiarly of banana. This beer tastes mild and slightly sweet with the obvious taste of banana, which isn’t as strong as the smell, along with a hint of vanilla that seems to be tempered just a little by the bitter hops. It is smooth and creamy almost velvet on the palate.
This is not an everyday beer. As a change of pace I loved it though! It doesn’t taste exactly like banana bread, if it was thicker with a little more toasted grain it might take on the nutty taste necessary to mimic walnuts, but that aside it was still an enjoyable brew. Interestingly, if you want to taste more banana let the beer warm up a little.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: Clear copper with finger thick white head.
Aroma: Banana, raisin, hint of mixed spice and bread.
Taste: Medium sweetness, low/medium bitterness and sourness.
Palate: Thick coarse texture and light body, average/prickly carbonation, lingering banana, spicy malty finish. The banana note is akin to banana milkshake or a chewy banana sweet taste.
Comments: Very good.

30-NOV-2013, bottle @home, present from Limoncelloman, from New York.
Clear, dark golden. Aroma is banana winegum. Taste is banana with malty caramel and a touch of hops. Never really that sweet, just very "banana-driven":-)
