Bottled, Pasteurised.
This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

I was half expecting this to be a fairly nondescript ale with a light flavouring of banana..... I was very wrong! In fact I could better describe this inventive drink as fermented banana with a light flavouring of ale!! I wonít ramble but itís unique, the beer behind it, is fairly bitter, feels light, pours a decent head. The novelty will wear off but its fun and tasty while it lasts!

Curiouser and curiouser. I was intrigued when I first saw the bottle in the local store. Did not try it for quite a while, as there are so many great ales in San Diego. One night i wanted something with a late dinner and it sounded good. It was. The first few sips did not hit me, but then as I drank more, the smell of the bananas kicked in and it was good. I would probably not drink this ale by itself, but with a sandwich, or a light meal, very good. Smell of bananas says it all.

Wonderful aroma. Nice banana aroma and taste. A high level of sugar in paladar. Overall is very very different and good.

Aroma was malty, but with more hoppiness than I had expected. Poured from the bottle a dark, but translucent amber, with very little head. Taste was incredibly malty, but had a nice, bitter hop balance to it. Didnít really get a lot of banana until the finish, which is a pleasant, ripe banana flavor which lingers for quite a while.

Definitely not an every day beer. Thought, great if you want to try some thing unique. It certainly tastes like bananas, though the bread part I am not so sure of. If you pick up a 4 pack and take it to a house party you will most assuredly get some strange looks, and it is a great conversation starter.

Pours amber with nice off-white head. Recedes to consistent layer on top. Smells like fake-banana flavor. Banana candy, gum, whatever. I like that smell, so kinda nice. Taste is again of fake banana. Too bad there isnít a little real banana there. I think there is an amber under there somewhere, but tough to pick out the beer from the banana. If youíre going to do this, I say use a beer with some sweetness or tartness for the banana to ride on. As is, this just a shitty amber with banana flavor added, and thatís about it.

I rate this one high because rarely does a beer deliver what it advertises. Banana bread in beer form. Does not disappoint. I don't want to have a ton of them, but a pleasant and tasty surprise. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
