Anyway this beer has a golden hue with just a touch of amber and a thin off white head. For a beer it smells peculiarly of banana. This beer tastes mild and slightly sweet with the obvious taste of banana, which isnít as strong as the smell, along with a hint of vanilla that seems to be tempered just a little by the bitter hops. It is smooth and creamy almost velvet on the palate.
This is not an everyday beer. As a change of pace I loved it though! It doesnít taste exactly like banana bread, if it was thicker with a little more toasted grain it might take on the nutty taste necessary to mimic walnuts, but that aside it was still an enjoyable brew. Interestingly, if you want to taste more banana let the beer warm up a little.

Pour from an 11.2 oz. bottle. Smells like artificial banana, like a banana popsicle. Sweet and slightly vegetal aroma features caramel, muffin, and cinnamon scents. Pours a totally clear, still brass with a small amount of beige head. One of the most boring looking beers I have seen. Sweet and artificial flavor that barely registers as banana. Lemon, honey, and apricot elements in the taste. Also chemicals, cough drops, and minerals. It tastes generically pseudo-fruity, but not particularly banana-esque. Not gross but definitely not good in flavor. Dry, chemical-y aftertaste. Light body. Watery and insubstantial in the palate, though reasonably lively. Easy to drink. I love actual banana bread. I see no reason why a well done banana beer should not taste like banana bread. This does not taste like banana bread. This is not a well done banana beer. Thereís an artificial taste to it. It was almost a "drain pour," (I actually cook with my rare "drain pours," and I encourage anyone reading this review to do the same), but I rallied and finished it. Itís not disgusting, but it is offputting. This did give me what I think is a good idea for a beer: A Caribbean-inspired plantain export stout, where the plantain, which is much drier than a banana, acts like a potato in a potato stout. Get on this immediately, Cigar City! (Please stay away from this idea, Wells & Youngs).

Bottel. Pours an orange amber with light head. Flavor of oil and rancid bananas. Flavors are similar though more palatable. Overall just unique. Not worth trying again.

Drinking from my pewter tankard, got a good head producing a nice bananary aroma. Nice occasional novelty.

Poured an attractive light-red amber with average head that diminished to an oily slick. Aroma of sweet banana but not so much of bread, touch of vanilla and bubblegum. Taste initially of light sweet malt, moving to a mouthful of banana and bubblegum, finish is long and distinctly resembles the aftertaste from eating a slightly under-ripe banana.Creamy on palate, though a bit thin bodied, good length to finish. A solid novelty beer.

Bottle. Pours the color of weak tea with a 1/4" off white head. Aroma is bananas and nuts, flavor is same. Banana bread in liquid form, perhaps with addition of a bit of vanilla. Thin, dry palate. Meh, ok.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Vanilla, banana, caramel scent. Light and refreshing akin to a lager. Carbonation present, little hops, banana/caramel very prominent. The flavour is interesting, but itís too short lived and artificial banana is all it has to offer. Still good though.

Bottle 50cl, a clear dark amber beer with good head. Nose is on over ripped banana. Aroma is on caramel, candied banana, bubble gum notes, grassy hops, floral, bit unusual, ok.

Bottle from Tesco Longford Rate #1800
Amber, clear, decent frothy head, some lacing
Aroma - Typical skunky light damage nose gives way to quite intense sweet banana custard, with a soft caramel undertone. (-2 for clear bottle)
Taste of soft caramel malts, prominent soft sweet banana, dab of spicy hop, straightforward beer, taste gets better with the drinking
Palate - Soft carb, medium to light body, oily. Fairly sweet palate. Finish as main flavour, touch dry, slightly metallic, soft bitter, sweet banana
Overall - I always avoided this beer and expected it to be crap and I donít care for clear bottles with that horrid smell on pulling the cap off, but the sweet banana comes thorough in the end and itís a fairly pleasant if slightly artificial soft banana taste.

Nice & solid little tasty beer. Interesting banana aroma. Decent copper pour & smooth clean taste. Kind of a 1 trick pony but it works!
