This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

Pours an deep copper with quick diminishing bubbly head. Aroma is strong banana’s and some spiciness. Flavor of artificial banana, spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove and ends with a slight bitterness. Palate reminds me a lot of pumpkin ales...it has the same buttery/oily texture. Overall, I was disappointed...I love banana’s, but this tasted so artificial.

Sampled from a 16 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a trace white head. The aroma was strong dried banana chips. The flavor was dryish and a touch malty with a strong dried banana chip element and a touch of nut. The finish was long and dry with lingering banana. Medium body. Odd but interesting.

I heard mixed opinions about this "interesting" concoction. Most notably the differing perspectives of the banana flavor. Specifically, whether it was a real, fake, or rotten banana flavor. I found a bottle at a local retail shop and decided to find out for myself. First off, yes (for those of you who are wondering) it actually tastes like banana "bread?" beer, a true mix of both. I’d have to say that the banana flavor itself is a bit of a mix between real and fake flavoring, but there was no detectable trace of "rotteness." (such as in Sam Smith’s organic strawberry beer.) Perhaps different batches do, but not this bottle. Its, um... worth trying once, just to say you’ve had it. Not bad, but... well, not bad.

Pours a rich copper color. Aroma of banana, and bread, mixed with a mild sweetness. Taste is slightly malty, with a distinct aftertaste of bananas. This beer hits its mark on the banana theme. Surprisingly crisp aftertaste. This beer was a nice surprise for a gimmick beer but not an everyday drinker.

A clear amber pour with a sudsy white head. Banana esters immediately fill the room. The nose is of yeasty bread and banana- it is exactly like nutty banana bread. The flavor is caramel malt with borderline cloying banana notes that finish with some astringent cereal grains. Very one dimensional. The palate is rather thin and holds cereal grain astringency near the finish.

Pours a clean translucent gold with a thin white head. Nose is pure banana runts, sweet banana candy. Cloying. Flavor is meh. Its what I expected.

Banana bread is hard to get wrong. But I suppose banana bread beer is harder. This has a nice upfront banana aroma and flavour (not too strong), and the first few sips are pleasant. But let it sit for a bit and a bitter, acidic after taste slowly overwhelms this beer. Banana bread and beer should not mix, apparently.

Beside the great banana aroma and fruity banana taste, this beer is not too great. With the appearance of urine, I was apprehensive. The aroma is bready with an artificial banana aroma. Sweet malts of light caramel and a hint of skunk. The taste is weak malts with a hint of the banana. Not a great beer overall.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2011 Bottle, smallish head, clear deep gold colour, aroma of bread and cookies with some malt hidden in the back, artificial banana flavour with malt and some alcohol coupled with a light bitterness coming brhind it. Light for a strong ale, quite dissapointing.
