This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

I heard about this beer for a long time before I actually had a chance to acquire it. It had a high billing, so I was expecting a lot. It did not disappoint. The aroma is no doubt a composite of banana which i presume could be banana, but likely a bit of the yeast common in hefeweizens. It also has a bit of roastyness and nuttiness in there. The appearance is a moderate golden color with a decent white head, that does fade over time. The taste is not blatantly banana, but rather more of an essence of banana bread. It’s definitely there, but with also a bit of light hops, some yeast as well. The beer is confounding here. It’s more medium bodied, texture is some where between medium creamy. Carbonation is average. The finish beckons you to keep going till, well you order another, and another. I really enjoyed this. It’s pricey, for what it its, but it’s a must try. On a side note this would be an excellent beer to cook with.

I had very high expectations for this beer. The banana taste was more subtle than I expected it would be. I found that the taste of this beer grew on me as I drank more of it.

banana, bread and hoppy aroma. cloudy light brown appearance. Taste is slightly sweet and enjoyable. Lots of pleasant aroma during drink. Can sense the "banana bread" on the aftertaste. Medium body average carbonation, nice finish with the banana bread as stated.

Pours a clear amber color, topped with a nice, although rather small white head. Bready aroma with some likeable banana notes. Malty taste, somewhat bready, again with banana notes in there. Light bitterness, but some banana notes still left in there. I like it, not bad at all.

Poured a light amber colour with a thin head. Aroma is of light bready notes and clove. Flavor is of bready malts, banana and nuts. Light to medium bodied brew with a slight creamy texture and light bitterness on the finish.

Okay looker when poured. Perhaps just a tad bit spritzy looking but foamy head whic dissipates. Aroma doesnt show banana but it comes to fore at back of mouth. Extremely dry finish as banana flows over tongue. Weird but didnt dislike this as much as i feared i might. One only at a time though or i guess it will last forever in my mouth and hopefully wont keep burping banana all night haha

Weird beer, but it kinda works. Bit banana medicine, bit caramel but it flows over the tounge well. Not going to spend too much time waffling on about this cos its beer Marmite with LOVE and HATE tattoo’d over its knuckles. I’d give it a blast again but not too soon. Good to show off to mates.
