2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 8, 2007
A Mes rate: Cask at Baker St. ’Sporks. Could smell this as it was being poured. Artificial, overly sweet and almost unpleasant. Just about drinkable. The base beer is clearly not great. The fruit, as mentioned already, is fake and reminds me of those banana foam like sweets I used to have as a kid. Crap.

,i>Cask at the William Morris (JDW), Hammersmith. Chestnut with a creamy, cream coloured white head; aroma of bananas as expected, but more restrained and natural than the bottled version; sweet banana flavour with hints of cinnamon and vanilla; smooth and easy to drink; a gently bitter finish. Overall, much better than the bottled one.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rm0312 (36) - Idaho, USA - AUG 29, 2007
Pint Bottle - Poured a clear copper with a creamy head; firm, smooth body. Unmistakable banana aroma along with some hop smell. The banana also overpowers the hop bitterness in the flavor as well. An interesting beer but not really what I’m after.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 6, 2006
Cask (handpump) at the White Horse, Parsons Green, August 2005. Copper colour. No getting away from the banana here. Difficult really to get a handle on anything else. Rather artificial tasting. A confection in every way and rather difficult to score. I’m not convinced that banana and English style bitter is a marriage made in heaven.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2011 1. Cask Handpump at the Winnington Lodge, Northwich 25/02/2003
Amber mid brown colour fruity banana. Slightly dry malt finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Penny Black, Northwich 04/11/2005.
Mid brown colour with bananas very much present both in the aroma and the taste.
In contrast to all the sweetness there’s quite a bitterness in the finish which comes as a pleasant surprise.
3. Cask Handpump at the Penny Black JDW, Northwich 16/11/2009

Marzipan-like nutty malts and strong banana esters in the aroma. Clear burnished copper coloured body with low, tan, fully diminishing head. Huge banana, nutty flavour with some bubblegum esters. Mostly thin with low carbonation and a watery texture. Cask sampled at the White Horse on Parson’s Green in London during GBBF 2005.

Cask t Wetherspoons Ashford, does what it says on the tin, reddish brown, little white head, aromas of banana, bubble gum, yeasty dough, ok in mouth slighly acidic with fruity malty banana tangy finish. Better than I expected.

Cask Conditioned at The Banbury Cross, Banbury. Chestnut Brown with heavy head. Strong sweet aroma, definitely Banana. Iniyially the flavour is appealing but towards the end of the pint the sickly sweetness becomes overbearing. Drink in halves.
