Commercial Description:
Bottled, Pasteurised.
This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

Nope. This was quite awful. I really saw nothing that worked well. I think that the bananas resulted in a very metallic taste that I certainly did not want to drink. I love the concept, but I think this did not work at all.

Poured into an English pint glass to an amber coloured beer. Thick white head that quickly vaporized to just a thin covering. Aromas of plums and bananas. Initial taste of yeast followed by a slight banana flavor. The finish was a little disappointing; no body nor taste at all, sort of just hanging from the banana flavor. Interesting beer.

From notes alone. Tasted October ’07
’Vibrant, sweet and finely pronounced aroma of fresh baked banana bread leaps from the glass - it certainly harnesses the quality well. A soft herbal hop note comes in, but a solventy tickle mars it from being too sumptuous and grounding. Pours a striking golden amber, translucent and short of carbonation. The head nothing to right home about; a thin, soapy pad, off-white and lasting. It starts pleasant in the mouth, but it quickly drowned by some nasty additions. Dull banana and caramel turns to a heavily buttery, slick, acridly tannic and drabby, light bodied, watery palate. The swallow is tangy yet drawn, luckily little sticks around. Makes you squirm with each mouthful. How could the aroma promise so much, the palate deliver so little. Not good at all!!’ (568ml, 13/12/07, The Beer Store Morley)

Pours deep amber into an English pint. Pancake head recedes to skim surface. Over-ripe banana aromas. Crisp and clean upfront with a dry, sour banana peel finish.

Bottle - pours an orangish amber color with an off-white head. Aroma of bananas and some spices. Flavor is sweet, not as much banana flavor as the aroma hinted at. Strange mix of hops, banana flavors, sugars makes for an almost chemical like flavor.

Bottle. Pours pale amber, topped with a moderate sized tan head. Sweet aroma, with banana and some grain. Actually does smell like banana bread. Flavor is very sweet, with caramel malt, some banana, and spice. Lingering caramel and banana flavor. Interesting beer.
