Very average. Next to no head. Didn’t live up to the LCBO hype. Fine carbonation. Won’t buy this again.

Don’t exactly like the look of it in a clear glass bottle and even then when it was in my glass the appearance still didn’t turn me on. A little watery, a little citrus and a touch of grainy malts, drinkable but nothing really stands out. Average.

2008-07-30. Golden body with a good sized white head. Aroma is on the mild side, light grassy hops. (6+) Flavour is mild, palt malt and grains, hoppy bitterness, grass and straw. Light muddled background note that I initially think is a touch of skunk from the clear glass, but perhaps not. Average to thin bodied palate. Grows on me a bit but it just doesn’t have a lot going on over all. A refreshing golden ale, alive with English marketing! Bottle from the LCBO

bottle: I agree wholeheartedley with KingofCastle.....an awesome summer beer with fruity notes.....the balanced bitterness makes it an excellent thirst quencher. Very nice!!

bottle: Very impressed with this brew and glad to read that it is a bitter. To me this had all the outstanding qualities of a summer brew: fruitiness, slight bitterness and massive quafability. Thanks to Lord Beamish for this treasure. These old school English ales & European beers with the lower alcohol content show how light beers can have so much flavour going on. Sadly, most average guys will be turned off by the English hops & bitterness. It is beyond my comprehension that this beer is rated so much lower than some really crappy beers (i.e. Tankhouse Ale, Schlenkerla’s awful smoke beer, etc.).

Bottle. Pours a clear, bubbly golden-orange with an average size diminishing fizzy white head. Aroma: First thing noticeable is some skunkyness (stupid clear bottles!) then grassy hops and malt -- not much else, maybe some honey. Flavour of grassy hops backed by grainy malt and an average bitter finish. Light to average bodied. It’s O.K. but somewhat simple, there’s not much going on here -- still, take away the skunkyness and it’s an alright beer.

Yellow with some fizzy white head, though also some fresh lace. Cheese aroma, cheesy taste. Mid mouth feel or a bit less. Not too drinkable.
