sm89walt (176), Norwich, Norfolk, England Oct 15, 2007 Pint bottle. A golden beer with a thin whitish head. Fresh citric hop aroma. Quite a bland sense of a malt taste with marginal hop flavours accompanying it. Thin and uninspiring; my least favourite Bombardier.
Mes_and_Sim (4360), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 31, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at Chris O’s Post GBBF Tasting. Dirty golden brown with a thin white head. The fuggles and goldings are fairly clear as are some none too pleasant earthy notes. Pretty rough and minus points for a clear bottle. oh6gdx (5903), Vaasa, Finland Aug 31, 2008 Bottled@Chris O Post GBBF tasting. Golden colour, white small head. Aroma is hops, some mild notes of rubber and wood. Flavour is malts, caramel, fruity hops and some mild earthyness. Pleasant flavour. gam (529), brisbane, Australia Aug 17, 2008 Large head on a misty straw coloured beer, good carbonation.Aroma malt, hoppy, note of bread.Flavour, malty, mild good bitterness, citrus touch, nothing special just a good drinkable English ale I could drink all day.No nasties, very plesant, finish malty, bitter lasting taste, very nice, underrated. mabel (1633), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 13, 2008 [1553-20080730] 500mL bottle. Grainy malt aroma has some plastic notes. Slightly hazy, medium orange brown body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Grainy metallic malt flavour. Medium body has a bit of kick. "Inert" but fair.
(w/ jerc) probstk (674), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2008 500 ml bottle from LCBO, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear deep golden, fair white head.
Aroma: Fruity malts – apples as usual!, light tree fruits, slightly funky earthiness, not much else...
Palate: Medium-ish body, soft carbonation.
Flav.: Some of the light fruity malts, a bit of earthy, leafy hops; dry with only a hint of bitterness, nothing much on the finish.
Wells Smoldering Brass. BORING.
