3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at The Mason’s Arms, Solihull. Poured a dark chestnut brown with a frothy white head. The aroma is weak malt leading to a medium bitter flavour with a little liqourice and lots of smooth malt on the palate. This remains a top session beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 Charlie Wells staple. Fruity best bitter. Pours ruddy brown, aroma of biscuits and raisins. Taste is malty yet satisfyingly bitter finish. Lost a bit of its power after ABV reduction from 4.3% to 4.1%, but still very flavourful. Must be served well, can be a bit unforgiving otherwise.

Cask - Roasted grains on the nose. Clear amber with a nice thick off white head. Roasted grains, light hops and a very almost non existent bitterness. Very light and easily sessionable, just very tasteless and no body at all.

Chestnut brown with medium head, light carbonation for a real easy not to strong with a hoppy finnish beer.
