2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Poured from a 1 pint .9 oz sculpted brown bottle into a nonic glass. Strong hiss at opening, poured down the edge as slowly as possible, but still had to stop half-way through for all the crazy meringue-like foam. It was a crystal-clear reddish copper colour. Strong syrupy cola-like essence, weak aroma but a little Fuggley bitterness appeared as it warmed, nondescript grainbill, obvious use of sugar syrup, no ale yeast character at all. Medium body, bland with an unpleasant sticky mouthfeel. Zero complexity. An historic brand, I know, but no longer a great beer. Frankly, a real let-down.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle sampled at Classic City Brew Fest 2014. Pours clear amber with minimal white head. Aroma is typical English yeast worth a hint of caramel malt and biscuit. Taste follows, pretty normal English ESB with that well water you know.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
50 cl bottle, Finland. Dark red colour with longlasting foamy head. Aroma is weak but there’s a little bit of hops and malts. Light body with quite dry finish. Bitter taste as you could imagine from a bitter style beer. Decent but not very enjoyable beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can, 50cl. ABV 4,3 %. Pours ruby red, copper and amber with one small finger worth of creamy beige head. Sweet malty, roasted and caramel head. Semi bitter hoppy flavour. Supported by caramel and malty sweetness. Medium dry finish. Smooth mouth-feel the dry character in consideration. Light medium bodied. That was quite ok.
