May 28, 2008; pint+ bottle. Golden-brown, maple-syrup colored pour; moderate head concentrated around the the rim of the glass; some lacing. Luscious aroma of sweet candy/toffee/caramel malt -- just what one would expect to encounter with the style. Nice bitterness, but there isn’t quite enough character or complexity to completely sustain Fulleresque expectations past the first few seconds. That said, I enjoyed this a great deal and think it’s almost-criminally underrated at its current "66".

Bottle. Goldings nose, dark amber body, off-white head with some retention. Serious caramel sweetness with Goldings notes and mild bitterness. No particular base-malt character. Drinkable, a bit boring.

Bottle white, 1 pint
Appearance: Head is initially average, off- white, cappuccino like in colour, frothy, lacing is good, head longevity is average, very slowly diminishing, body is clear, carbonation is flat, full bodied, average neither thin nor thick. Body colour is dark, burned amber, red fire (opal)
Aroma: Alcohol, fresh, dark bread, refreshing, lemon, pine tree, fresh wood, nice toasted malts, fresh grinded coffeegraines, toastyness, cognac, earth, moderate hoppy, hints of yeast, herbs, spices, brown sugar, butter, a little banana but very nice freshness.
Flavour: Initially creamy, very nice maderate bitterness in taste. Nice, burned sugar and toasted malts, grainy, dark bread, smooth on palate but so well burned that is bitter, no sweet, hoppy to alcoholic nose, nice bitterness on palate, easy going like water but the impression is great, the beer is dry. Flavuor is at finish stronger in bitterness and strenghtened by bitterness of hops. No hint of sugar. Nice hints of pine tree, hints of cask wood, earthy hops. Nice, toasted, malty base, hints of spieces, a little bit herbal hopiness, strong essencial flavuor, a little bit lemon. Rasin notes are quite noticable as well as some hints of cask wood
Palate: Dry, strong tangy feeling during drinking this beer but aroma of hops is also strong. Body palate is medium, body texture is creamy and dry, carbonation on palate is flat, your tang is very, very dry. Finish duration is average. Soury- alcoholic finish.

Pours a brown amber color with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel and malts. A nice slightly sweet taste with a dry finish. I could drink a lot of these.

Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Average creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Clear amber colour. Aroma of grain, fruit, caramel, ash, herbal. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated bitter flavour with light sweetness. Dry and bitter finish.

Aroma is fruity. The color is just outstanding! The taste is dry with some malty sweetnes and roasted bread. Really enjoyable bitter!
