Nice nose of UK hops and crystal malt. Smooth and quite malty with hops all around, beginning to end.Nice bitter but not as good as Fullers. A "Well" balanced beer that I’d buy again (If Vadallia didn’t have Fullers). redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA

Aroma of yeast and fruit. Nice, fruity taste that finishes well. Overall, a great beer. When I was in England I saw it on tap... wish I had tried it.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Tap at The Diamond: Pours a deep amber with a brown hue and a thin tan head. The aroma lacks hop, making it mainly chocolaty and lightly nutty. Mild carbonation on the palate. The flavor has a hint of nuttiness & some light toasty crystal malt. Not enough bitterness, especially for the style. Simple, session-able. EithCubes (2146), Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Bottle. Toast malt balanced with deep-lain red fruit and bready fruitcake. Lesser notes of plum and yeast. Deep mahogany/chestnut body with a beautiful, soapy, lacing rocky tanned head. Dry, lightly bitter, lightly fruity taste, with the fruit lingering a little more than the other notes in the brief aftertaste. Pale Malt and the Goldings are the key players here. Slightly dusty medium body. Carbonation is a tad artificial. Faintly earthy. Pretty standard bitter. BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal
