500 ml can. Red colour, enormous rocky and creamy head. The aroma is of malt with a light citrusy note. Medium bitterness, balnce between malt and hops, and a metallic feeling, surely for the can. Not outstanding, but a nice ale, easy to drink and refreshing. English ales are always nice to drink.

568ml bottle, 5.2% a/v Pours darker then expected, a very deep nutty brown colour. The head is also brown,, with some fine lacing on the bottle. The smell is caramel, citrus and a nice hop kick. The taste consisting of much the same. The crisp hop finish is fantastic and this beer goes down well. Something to drink with the lads.

Poured a dark amber-red with a silky but small head. Once the sour carbon flavour dissipated, aromas of caramel and amber malt, and some faint hops. Taste very difficult to pin down: fruity, almost red-delicious apple-like taste, probably the hops. Pale malt very present, but it must get its colour from some other malting, but it’s hard to taste. Perhaps a bit of amber? Carbonation a bit strong - sort of a gassy beer. Pleasant malt aftertaste lingers a nice long while. Overall, very drinkable, probably will buy again, if only to identify the more mysterious flavours. Not a favourite, but intriguing all the same.

Bottle. Clear copper color with a off-white head. Aroma is weak, but fruity and malty with some hops. Fruity, citrus like flavor with malt and some caramel. Thin body but it’s hop-dominated, lightly dry finish.

A really nice bitter, suprisingly, since its not all that popular. Decent amount for a decent price, deffinately worth a try.

568mL bottle from the LCBO. Pours dark amber, with a good head. Malty, (just a touch sweet), with a solid blast of hops. Carbonation is on the low side of what I like. Really a great beer. Stands on it’s own, or excellent with food. Try it. You’ll like it.
