demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Nov 2, 2006 Malts, caramel, nice hop texture, and some tart apples linger throughout the aroma. Appearance is a copper clear pour with a minimal off white head that lingers for quite a while. Taste is caramelized malts, a dry grainy texture, bitter, a pine note, and crab apples. Palate is dry, bitter, lightly carbonated and short. Overall, It’s a decent ESB maybe on the high end of the ESB latter. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 23, 2006 Dark amber color with an off-white head. Malt with hints of fruit. Medium body with a nice bitter aftertaste. gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Oct 22, 2006 Can. copper colour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruit, hop. Flavour is fruit, hop, apple, caramel Skidds (252), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 17, 2006 Poured a thick amber red/brown colour with a decent size creamy head. Butterscotch like taste. Malty with a fairly hoppy finish. Very good ESB overall. I would love to have this again. deadguy (35), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 16, 2006 not that impressed. very malty. hints of carmel with a thin, almost tin-like tasting finish. average head. rich amber body. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Oct 8, 2006 Bottle - Pours copper with short tan creamy head that stays well and laces a little on the way down the glass. Aromas of raisins, over caramel malts. Flavor is good caramel malts, some toffee notes as well with a short bitter citrus finish. Smooth and easy drinking palate with medium body and a crisp finish. Pretty fair beer all in all. daniel0017 (232), Ontario, Canada Oct 1, 2006 Strong, pronounced character with fresh-baked cookies texture and chocolatey-coffee flavour. Thick and rich pour with frothy head. I enjoyed this beer so much the first time I drank it, I lost track of how fast I was drinking it. This is the kind of beer that goes very well with a plate of fine cheeses, crackers and meats. Made to be savoured! Aarleks (404), Sydney, Australia Sep 29, 2006 Bottle: Redish amber with a large off-white head and lots of bead in the glass. Plenty of prune-like esters over some slightly metallic and cardboardy crystal malts. Fairly well done, really. In the mounth things go down hill sadly; nice toffee sweetness with some woody herb hop notes, but the classic British bottled dead palate rears its dispicably ugly head and completely takes over around mid-palate. From there on it’s dead malts and astringent bitterness.
