| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Poured a clear dark ruby color with a thin short lived head. The aroma is of toasted sweet bread, herbs, and root vegtables. Flavor has a strong toasted bread caracter with some light caramel. A strong vegetal flavor like root vegtables boiled until almost flavorless. Also an unappealing grassy hops flavor in the finish is quite strong and unfortunately very long lasting. mountainforest (111), Edinburgh, Scotland

Unlike cheap beers, the other its out the less bitter it becomes. Tall head. As their website says, Only national bottled premium ale brand that comes in a full 1 pint (568ml) bottle. Flavor is slightly sweet and malty. Bitter finish brings nice balance. Very nice, typical english bitter. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 17, 2006 Dark ruby-tinged carmel with a half-hearted attempt at a layer of course white. Oddly, after a second pour, still not much head, but the little bit that’s there seems rather tenacious. I started this beer a bit on the cold side, and it smelled and tasted downright unpleasant. With some warming, it certainly improves, at least to the point where I’m not making faces after each sip. Sort of a rough earthy carmel aroma. Vegetal, dark bread flavors. As much as some low abv bitters seem to have more flavor than they gravity would indicate, this beer has less. Flabby. Bah. Rune (2787), Tromsø, Norway

Blended aroma of brown and black malts. Sharp caramel flavour. The finish contains burnt malt and a nice hint of bitterness (11.08.2006). bdjames29 (272), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2006 Ahhh.....the Bombadier. Todd at Mt. Washington Beer Stand gave me a great deal on this brew becasue they weren’t moving a whole lot of Bombardier.
Really good becasue I was really thirsty - I wasn’t working real hard on this one. Interesting color - dark murky brown faded into a bright copper red on bottom. Not a lot of aroma....not a lot of taste....but pleasant. Nothing special.. but nothing bad, much like most British beers I’ve tried. I drink it again if I can get it for free. xav33 (313), Midland, MI, Michigan, USA

16 oz bottle
Unknown bottling, expiration date 09/06, swallowed 08/06
Medium pour in an English pint.
Poured an intriguing clear ruby brown with an average slightly off white mostly diminishing head.
Smelt of dark bread.
Taste was sweet malty, almost corny upfront, with combination of sweet malt and hoppy body and good average lasting finish. Body was medium light, dry and fizzy, which held back some of the flavors.
Overall, an above average English bitter.

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Aug 5, 2006 Earthy rootlike aromas. The peat like malt dominates any would be appearance by the hops. The malt smacks of roots and is devoid of any sweetness. Dissapointing.
