Pours a nice reddish-brown color with a minimal white head. Slight toffee aroma leads into a good dose of carmel malt flavor. Watery finish. A nice English ale.

Bottle from Regional Wines and Spirits. Pours a dark ruby red with thin, wispy head. Aroma of toffee and a hint of licorice. More toffee and caramel malt up front with a slight sweet fruitiness to go with more licorice through the middle. Disappointing mouth feel and watery finish but pleasant bitterness. I have fond memories of a pint of this on the pump but underwhelmed at the moment.

Bottle, 568ml, 5.2% ABV. An average diminishing head. A nice strong malty, fruity (citrus) aroma. Clear dark amber appearance. An average bitter but somewhat watery finish. My bottle had been mistreated before I got it and was leaking a bit and flat carbonation-wise, but I’ve tried not to mark it down for this...

Can. Almost copper-colored with a fluffy off-white head, leaving nice lacings. Very mild aroma of fruitiness, hops and roastiness. The flavor is a bit boring, but pleasant, with caramel, hops and fruity sweetness. Nice, pleasant finish. (060407)

Pint Bottle. Brown with a thick head that lasts. The aroma is roasted barley and hops. Sweet and heavy with almost no bitterness. The sweetness is almost to much.
