bobinlondon (786), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 6, 2009 Nitrokeg at Harvester in Bushey Heath. Mid brown with nitrocream head. I visit this pub with wife and kids quite regularly and tend to drink this. The London Pride that it has replaced suffered from low tuirnover so this is a safe bet. I have to say that I prefere this to the cask. I seems to have a citrus edge to the hop profile. Boystout (900), Chisinau, Moldova Jul 6, 2009 Bottle 568 ml. Dark copper-ruby colour, sweet/bitter aroma, intense malty, plummy and herbal palate. A respectable ale. finol (475), Nacka (Stockholm), Sweden Jun 30, 2009 Bottle at Black Sheep Arms, Visby.
Very smooth, malty and very much as expected. badlizard (2326), Berkeley, California, USA Jun 28, 2009 Tasted at the San Diego International Beer Festival. Light copper with a fizzy tan head. Malty earthy aroma and taste. Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 23, 2009 Poured out a nice sized light tan crown on top of a mahogany brew. Very good retention, good ropy lacing. The aroma here is odd - first thing that hit me was of a whiskey or something like that - fairly unpleasant to me actually, but this beer is unique. Once it warms, the other smells creep out - sweet toasted malts, bready, dark fruit (plums?), possibly tobacco and an odd spice. The flavour is also unique to me - more sort of whisky like stuff is the first impression but I’m sure that’s the hops in here; seems warm to the nose, toffee and an interesting candy sweetness, slight pepper. Almost medium bodied. So-so smooth with ample carbonation that seems to help the bitterness permeate the mouth. Dry bitter finish. A very interesting beer that has many qualities that do not suit my tastes, I probably won’t get another bottle, but this one is a bit different and worthy of a taste. Get a hold of a bottle and see how much you hate it or love it. hirigalzkar (550), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 22, 2009 Bottle @ Black Sheep Arms. Mahogny color. Folwery/floury. Malty. Fresh hops. fidelis83 (709), Clinton, Iowa, USA Jun 18, 2009 Pours mahogany with a 1-2 finger creamy tan head that has good retention. Aroma is caramel, toasted french bread, roast, light apple and pear notes, earth, lots of pleasant mineral notes and just a little nutty toffee. Flavor is roast, caramel, toasted grain, mild salty cheese, walnut brittle, some spiciness (seems almost nutmeg-like), a little blood orange and planty hops. Finish is slightly herbal with some roast tones and spiciness and a nice spicy sweet fade. Palate is light body, dry and crisp throughout, with a slightly over active carbonation that makes me want to flatten the beer out a bit the next time I drink it. Cirrhosis (610), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 10, 2009 "Dark reddish copper body and a very tall crown the lacing is very sticky. Mild aroma slightly sour and mostly just roasted malts but its ok. Watery flavor but is very full that makes no sense, malty not all that bitter but very tasty. There is more to the flavor but I can’t nail it down. Very drinkable but nothing to special."
