| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 23, 2005 Draught. Discreet and persistent foam. Extinguished and firm aspect, a lot little bubbly. Intense red color. Bitter scent and herbal hoppiness. Dry and deeply bitter taste, little fresh and enough persistent. To me, badly draught. Hooker (450), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2005 Poured from the bottle. A light brown colour, quite carbonated. A decent frothy head. Aroma is a fruity/flowery maltiness. Flavor is a nutty hoppiness. A good bitter feel in the mouth. Possibly a little too bitter-dominated. A solid example of an English ESB. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2005 Draught @ Brouwer’s Cafe pours dark amber, moderate off-white head, nice lacing, with light carbonation. Soft malt nose, apple skin, and maybe even a bit of dark pitted fruit showing up. Malty on the tongue, very mild dark pitted fruit, not much bite. Twas a bit unexpected for a Premium Bitter. Moderate body and mouthfeel. Lingering malts and that ever so subtle dark pitted fruit. Minor appleskin as well. A bit heavier than what I was thinking, but still decent.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2005 On tap at the Blue Monk in Portland. Much improved over the bottle version, the sweet maltiness up front really shows well on tap with a bit of sweet dough taste. The hops finish off with a touch of herbal/spiciness to them balancing this out very well. frink (467), coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2005 Pours a light mahogany with a thin tan head. Nutty aromas as well as some fruitiness. The flavour is nicely bittered with a good sweet malt contingent and some of the same fruitiness as found in the nose. Nice lacing with medium carbonation. An o.k. beer. rauchbier (2999), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
