Pours mahogany with a 1-2 finger creamy tan head that has good retention. Aroma is caramel, toasted french bread, roast, light apple and pear notes, earth, lots of pleasant mineral notes and just a little nutty toffee. Flavor is roast, caramel, toasted grain, mild salty cheese, walnut brittle, some spiciness (seems almost nutmeg-like), a little blood orange and planty hops. Finish is slightly herbal with some roast tones and spiciness and a nice spicy sweet fade. Palate is light body, dry and crisp throughout, with a slightly over active carbonation that makes me want to flatten the beer out a bit the next time I drink it.

"Dark reddish copper body and a very tall crown the lacing is very sticky. Mild aroma slightly sour and mostly just roasted malts but its ok. Watery flavor but is very full that makes no sense, malty not all that bitter but very tasty. There is more to the flavor but I can’t nail it down. Very drinkable but nothing to special."

Draught at Pig-N-Whistle pub, Brisbane. Pours copper with a small white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, fruit and a touch of caramel. The body is thin and finishes with a soft, lingering bitterness.

Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in Plano, TX. Pours a very nice looking dark red/brown with beige head. Aroma is kinda light though, some caramel, faint hops, and something I can not identify....possibly some pepper as well. Flavor is exactly the same, a little dry.....mouthfeel is light-medium body with high carbonation....overall, not bad.....

500ml can into a half pint glass. Clear caramel; khaki head. Toffee aroma with noticeable hops. Sweetish flavor offset by a welcome, slightly rough bitterness. Thin, smooth palate. By far the hoppiest beer I tasted in eight days in London. Nice bitter.

A clear mahogany colour with a fine, beige head. A combination of fruit, caramel and bread malt aromas. Plenty of fruity flavours, mixed with some caramel, some roastiness and a touch of resiny hops. Pleasant, lasting sweet/bitter finish, nice palate texture, light carbonation.

Dark amber color with a very high and thick creamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma with spices and a hint of caramel sweetness. Flavor of roasted malt with a touch of caramel and raisin well balanced with an evident bitterness from the challenger hops.
