| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 16, 2009 Pours a nice red amber with a tan coloured head. Aroma is of red apple, that distinctive English biscuit, spice, and some dark fruits. Tastes like apples, biscuit, dark fruits, black pepper, hint of cloves, plum, and a bitter finish. This beer is very watery. This isn’t a winner, but is a fine session. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Dimmig, beslöjad. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Feb 27, 2009 Bottle. Brown. Malty aroma. Boiled malt flavour, sticky, mildly bitter finish. So typical of the pasteurised bottled bitters that lack the character and freshness of cask ale and might as well be a non alcoholic malt drink. It’s drinkable, but what’s the point? | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 26, 2009 (Bottle from co-op, Long Stratton) Pours very dark amber with small neat head. Smells very malty with a hint of hops at the back. Sweet malty taste with a initial richness combined with dark fruits. However becomes more watery as I drink - annoying as initially quite promising. Predominantly malt flavour with hint of hops. Lively carbonation - ok for a pasturised beer, if a bit dull. glennmastrange (837), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Tap. Light aromas of roasted and caramel for the malts, herbs for the hops, cheese for the yeast and dried fruit in the background. Head is thin, creamy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear light brown. Flavor starts lightly acidic and finishes moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, oily and has a lively carbonation. A funky smell threw this off a bit, but it did have some good qualities.
