Aroma is a minimal one, but becomes some caramel malts with a certain spice to it. Taste is alot fuller, with hops cutting into the toffee malts. Not much in the way of bitterness. Some malt and lots of aromatic hops. Very easy drinking and enjoyable on a night when you don’t want anything more complex.
Slightly weaker version availoable in Norway. boFNjackson (1329), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2006 From a 568 ml. shaped narrow neck brown bottle with a blurb on the back label, a freshness date stamped on the shoulder of bottle.
Poured a clear reddish deep amber with a foamy white head that settled into a thinnish bubbly lacing.
Aromas of roasted malts and minerals, fruity with a light spiciness with a little peat.
A nice even medium carbonation and a malty crisp, dry and smooth light-medium drinkability.
Nice ESB taste, roasted sweet malts with a touch of a peat scotch whiskey, spicy and berry fruity, a bit nutty, and a dry malty and fruity finish with a little caramelized sugar and spice lingering in the palate.
A good tasting ESB from Charles Wells, easy, smooth drinkability, highly quaffable.

A copper pour with creamy gooey off white head and lace. Medium roasted malt with a decent lingering finishing evergreen like bitter. A bit of a sulphurish flavor but barely a tick. Carbonation is a tad over the top mouthfeel is ok. A very nice drinker.
